Chairman Report 25-26
Well what a year, a wedding a baby a council position and then MCC…
What a fantastic year as a trust we have had, firstly with finances in the bank unlike we have ever had our bank reserves are strong and we are flourishing! We actually have money to do good!
The money part out the way we have actually managed to bring the community together with two events that sparked the whole place to fill in our grotto and Easter egg hunt even having mayors and deputy mayors as well as Santa/the grinch and the Easter bunny.
We now have a great relationship with the community around us who contact me regularly and don’t feel that they can’t share concerns any more as their needs are being met! They have even helped out with cone distribution and car parking this year so a huge thank you to them all, you know who you are!
Centre wise we have had presentations, weddings, events, food days and we have great regular users of hip hop, nursery, church, slimming world amount others.
As a committee we have even had a meal out together to booster the work relationships and bring something more than just meetings to the strength of our trust.
We have tried to bring sports back to the fields, and managed to take down dangerous equipment that were in the past impossible to remove.
Looking ahead we want to do the same two key events as we did this year with potentially a few other mixed in such as Halloween or Bonfire Night.
We are still awaiting transferral of assets from the council to the parish but we are doing an incredible job so thanks to my committee for the amazing year.
I am honoured to release we now have a junior committee in place with some of them joining as directors which this place has never had! 18 and upwards can actually sit on a charity directors board and we have our youngest member.
All it took was one word from our management department and my head went to over drive they are 9 strong at the moment and will meet every second meeting we have.
The junior committee will be in charge of making sure the youth is paramount for our future and initiatives such as football/sports games, discos and sensory sessions are in their first agenda.
We have ways to go but a huge thank you to all who have put in from seconds to huge amount of hours what we have managed must not be undersold as this place has never been this strong, organised and community focused and only two years ago it was going to be closed for good and the doors boarded.
Let’s also not forget my chair reports, for those times your sat on the loo and you have no other social media to scroll through and need a laugh.
We have a few outgoing committee members this term so a huge thank you to them for all they have done to bring MCC back on the map.
But lastly a little war cry from me! We have finally broke the back of this place but now let’s not rest on our morals and let’s really push this year and see what more we can bring to the place I call home.
See you all soon.
