Patchwork Studios

Patchwork Studios A creative community hub at Maker Heights; recording studio, rehearsal space, performance venue.... We encourage all patrons to use public transport.

Our entrance is to the rear of the Barrack Block at Maker Heights, on the ground floor beneath the granite staircase. Regular buses (70 and 70A) run from neighbouring villages and stop at the entrance to the site; it's a short walk up from there. If you're coming from Plymouth, the last 70A bus will get you to the entrance just before 7pm, or the Cremyll Ferry runs r

egularly and meets the same bus loop to take you up the hill too. Please note that neither service runs late into the evening, so we suggest camping, or advance booking a taxi for the end of the night.

The main car park is behind The Canteen, take a left just past the Nissen Hut complex. This is a public space so please park sensibly and be respectful of other users. Please do not drive to the Barrack Block or park anywhere on grass. If you suspect you may be over the limit, DO NOT DRIVE. We will happily call you a cab, and your car is fine to be left until the following day.

๐Ÿ“ The site postcode is PL10 1LA, please drive carefully.

We highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance from our official platform: https://rebrand.ly/patchwork-tickets. If the event is not sold out, limited tickets will be available on the door first come first served, but these often shift quickly. Only some of our events are ticketed, please check full listings at: facebook.com/patchworkrecordings/events/. We're aware of a rise in ticket scams. If you are purchasing tickets from a third party, please ask us to verify the name(s) on our ticket list before you purchase. If you are looking to sell your tickets, please message us and we will verify, and then post on your behalf / approve your post.

โ›บ๏ธ C A M P I N G ๐Ÿš
We recommend that you camp for the full experience. Maker Camp is a separate entity, and that it is only open for six months of the year. It is always advisable to book in advance as there are a limited number of pitches that often sell out. Please visit https://makercamp.org.uk for more information.

Unless otherwise stated, evening activities open at 7pm sharp, and start shortly after. Due to noise restrictions on site, loud/amplified music finishes at 10pm, but we stay open much later with wind down background tunes and conversational/social vibes. Please be aware that we may restrict access to smoking areas after this time if we feel that excess noise will disturb our neighbours. Please be considerate of other site users while visiting us. Please note that U18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult and vacate the premises at 10pm at the latest. Valid photo ID required.

๐Ÿง N O T I C E S ๐ŸŒž
We share a licensed area with The Garrison Gallery next door, a new arts space and cocktail bar. You are only able to consume drinks which have been purchased from either of our bars. Our team/security may conduct bag searches and confiscate prohibited items, including alcohol from off-site. This is for your own safety and to protect our entertainment licence. Please be mindful of other site users, including families on campsites, and keep noise to a minimum outside, especially after 10pm. This is most important in our outdoor smoking areas, and when leaving the site or returning to your tents late at night. Our continued existence relies on our ability to co-exist in harmony with the many other organisations at Maker Heights. We ask our patrons to bear this in mind at all times and be part of the solution, not the problem. Thank you, and see you up the hill โ™ฅ๏ธ

Our favourite one man world blues rock explosion is back at Maker for a rare gig!

Drawing deeply from blues, rock, folk and world music, with a penchant for slide guitar and a distinctive deep growling voice, the songs and virtuoso guitar playing of John Fairhurst will be delivered to your earholes in pure raconteur style, narrating all the wild first hand experiences of a life on the road.

Supporting is the award-winning singer songwriter duo Saint Senara, whose music spans dirty blues rock, southern gothic Americana, dark folk and country.

The pair have received widespread critical acclaim for their cinematic, genre-defying sound; 'chainsaw' Gretsch guitar tone; ethereal harmonies; and spellbinding lyrics, as well as their mesmerising on-stage chemistry and ability to make a big live sound with just two people, a guitar and a tambourine.

It's going to be another belter!

โŽTHURSDAY 14th MAY - JAMES DIXON GIG POSTONED โŽ

We've had to make the painful decision to cancel this upcoming event and we want to be open with you about why.

Advance ticket sales didn't reach the level we needed to confidently cover our costs and pay everyone fairly, from the artists, the promoters, the staff and everyone else running the space behind the scenes. That's the reality of running a small, independent venue - we can't gamble on the night when the overheads are already committed.

It stings. This was exactly the kind of event we're proud to champion - diverse, different, the sort of thing that doesn't happen everywhere. And that's what makes this harder.

We really, really need your support. Funding for the arts is pretty much non-existent - so far this year we've only managed to secure one very small grant (which we are still obviously very thankful for, but compared to previous years there's so little support around, and bidding for grants has become near impossible to win it seems).

Buying tickets in advance massively helps us determine whether we can keep putting gigs on and also supports your community, musicians/artists and the local people employed by us.

We'll let you know when this one will be rescheduled ๐Ÿ’“

๐ŸŽธ WE ARE ABSOLUTELY BUZZING for this gig - and we need you to be too! ๐ŸŽธ

Patchwork is thrilled to announce that will be joining us as part of their EP launch tour this June - and honestly, we couldnโ€™t be more excited to have them.

Also joining us are , a brilliant Exeter-based band who have just supported Mt Onsra (yes, MEGA - we know). These are seriously two of the most exciting acts weโ€™ve had the pleasure of bringing to you, and we are so proud to be part of their journey.

Now, we know a lot of you love the stomping DJ nights and trust us, so do we. From day one, our mission has been to support up-and-coming talent, champion local bands, and bring you a genuine variety of music. These are the nights that keep the next generation of artists alive. And right now, more than ever, that matters.

Every ticket sold tells these bands - and the wider music world - that people care. That live, original music has a future. That YOU are part of making that happen.

So please, if you can, prebook your tickets. Not just because it helps us plan, but as a real show of solidarity for the artists giving everything to do what they love. To make it that little bit sweeter, weโ€™ve put up a small amount of early bird tickets, so donโ€™t delay.

๐Ÿ•๏ธ If you didnโ€™t know, you can also camp on site via Maker Camping AND thereโ€™s a ridiculously good cocktail bar next door. Itโ€™s the perfect set up by the sea.

Come and be part of something special. Grab your tickets, pack your tent, and letโ€™s make some memories together. ๐ŸŒž

These acts are ones to watch, and youโ€™ll want to say you were there. ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ
