The Mildenhall Charity Superstore Newmarket Open Door is a charity providing vulnerable people with supported housing and training opportunities in Newmarket and Mildenhall

Newmarket Open Door is a charity providing vulnerable people with supported housing and training opportunities in Newmarket. As well as our houses, we run two Charity Superstores and Training Centres in Newmarket and Mildenhall, the local Foodbank as well as the Community Recycling Centre, to fundraise and to support the wider community. Open Door was inspired and founded by the local Churches Tog

ether initiative in 1997 and now manages and provides:

Portland and Hypher Houses – supported housing for young single homeless or vulnerable people aged 16-24. The Charity Superstore and Training Centre retailing donated furniture and household goods to the general public, providing volunteering opportunities for our residents and disadvantaged people from the wider community. The Foodbank@newmarketopendoor redistributes foods and household products to charities and their members and a discounted meal voucher scheme for homeless people in emergency need. The Community Recycling Centre at Depot Road, formerly run by Suffolk County Council. This is now a 'Pay to Throw' site, taking in household waste for a fee and collecting materials such as metals, textiles and clothes, carboard and paper.
