Today, the day of his funeral, we pause to remember our friend, Rotarian Richard Slater.

Rotary Middleton members have been busy collecting second-hand books for local children over the past few months. Every book was carefully checked, cleaned and tagged before being distributed.

Rotarians Nat and Peter recently spent two afternoons at St John Fisher Primary School, helping pupils choose a book to keep and take home. The children were absolutely delighted and excited to receive their free books, and it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm for reading.

The additional books collected have been left with the school so that they can be kept in classrooms, allowing children to swap and enjoy different books throughout the year.

It was a truly rewarding experience, and everyone involved had an absolutely lovely time. A huge thank you to all those who donated books and helped make this initiative such a success. 📚😊

Human fruit machine fun today at Middleton's first Ockoberfest in Middleton Gardens. We raised an amazing £50, this will go to help with our running costs and projects to help our community in Middleton.

Middleton Gardens just got a SERIOUS upgrade! 🛠️✨

Our iconic Rotary Middleton @ 90 community planters were looking a bit worse for wear, so today, our crack team of Rotarians stormed the gardens armed with sanders, varnish, power tools, and serious elbow grease!

The result? Absolute perfection. They’re looking fully restored, gleaming, and resplendent once again! 🔥

We’re not quite done yet, though; the two smaller planters are currently a "work in motion," and next week we’re mounting brand-new, custom Rotary signs to complete the look.

Rotary in Middleton since 1933! 🏆
That’s 93 incredible years of rolling up our sleeves and serving our local Middleton community, our nation, and project partners across the globe.

Keep an eye out next week for the final reveal! 👀👇

Great team effort yesterday! 🙌

Members of Rotary Middleton met up with the fantastic Rhodes Middleton Manchester Litter Pickers to hand over 4 brand-new children’s litter pickers, getting the next generation ready to help keep our town clean! 🧹👶

While we were together, we got straight to work tackling the stretch between Croft Gates & Armitage Close. In under an hour, we cleared a huge amount from the area, including 2 vacuums, a bin, a mop, a basket, 16 canisters, and 7 very full bags of litter! 🗑️💪

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to make a real difference in Middleton! 💚👏
