🌹 Happy St. George’s Day from Rotary Middleton! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Today, we celebrate the spirit of courage and community that St. George represents.

In Rotary, we might not fight literal dragons, but we do tackle the "dragons" in our society, like poverty, illness, and inequality. For us, today is a reminder of our core value: Service Above Self.

🚀 Big welcome to our newest change-makers!

Last night was an absolute blast as Rotary Middleton officially welcomed Natalie and Andy to the family! They didn’t just join; they hit the ground running. At our project meeting, they jumped straight into the action as "official" members, bringing fresh energy and great ideas to the table.

Why Rotary Middleton?

We aren’t your average "club". Imagine a group of friends who love to get together, share a laugh, and, most importantly, make a massive impact in our communities, here at home and around the world. We offer a unique blend of:

Laughter and friendship: Solid bonds with people who genuinely care.

Action-oriented giving: Rolling up our sleeves to support the causes that matter.

Purpose-driven fun: Turning "giving back" into the best part of your week.

Could this be YOUR next adventure?

If you want to do more for your community while making some great friends, we want to meet you!

Ready to see us in action? Drop us a PM right now. We’ll invite you along to our next session so you can see what we’re building, and decide if you want to be part of the magic.

Don't just watch things happen, make them happen with us! 🌟

As we celebrate Easter, the members of Rotary Middleton wish to share a heartfelt wish for peace, goodwill, and deeper understanding across the global community. In a world that often feels divided, we believe the spirit of Easter offers a timely reminder of our shared humanity. As People of Action, we recognise that peace is not a passive state, but something that must be built through active dedication and a sincere effort to understand the lives of others.

Guided by our ideal of Service Above Self, we hope this inspires a spirit of selflessness that reaches far beyond our own borders. When we prioritise the needs of the global community and strive to replace judgment with empathy, we create the foundations for lasting harmony. We hold a collective wish for a renewed commitment to peace across all nations.

True progress begins when we listen more deeply and seek to understand different perspectives with curiosity rather than conflict. By working together as people of action, we can build a future where every individual can live with dignity and hope. From all of us at Rotary Middleton, we wish you a peaceful Easter filled with the quiet joy of connection and the strength of a more compassionate, united world.

Last night, we were back on the streets of Manchester City Centre with the incredible team at Cold Hands Warm Hearts.

It was a busy Monday, and we were honoured to help serve over 100 hot meals, huge thanks to Homemade Heaven at The Old C**k Inn and Queens Park Café for the delicious food! Beyond the hot meals, we were able to provide warm clothing to those braving the cold.

As always, the gratitude from the community was deeply humbling. A special shout-out to Tracey for the amazing sandwiches! We are so proud to support such a fantastic charity and their dedicated volunteers.

APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED!

Introducing the New Middleton Community Fund! 📣

For over a decade, our annual Dragon's Den initiative has helped us support amazing local causes. Now, to better serve our evolving community, we're replacing it with a more flexible, year-round grant program: the Middleton Community Fund!

If you're a charity, individual, or local group with a great idea to benefit the people of Middleton, we want to hear from you!
We're inviting funding applications right now.

What you need to know:

💰 Grants are available from the funds raised locally through traditions like our Christmas Float and collections at Middleton Shopping Centre, etc.

📍 Only projects that benefit the Middleton community are eligible.

📝 Funding must be for item-specific needs; we won't fund routine running costs, entry fees, subscriptions, or rentals.

💡 Grants will typically be up to £500. While we may consider funding over £500 in exceptional cases, please note this will be a rarity.

🤝 Successful outcomes are not guaranteed; all applications are reviewed, and awards are agreed by Rotary Middleton and depend on eligibility and funding availability.

📸 Publicity is required. If you're successful, you'll agree to Rotary Middleton sharing your story, photos, and videos (with appropriate permissions, of course!).

Let's grow our impact together! We're also keen to partner with local businesses and organisations who might be interested in match-funding specific projects!

Don't let a great idea stay on the drawing board. Apply today and help us bring fresh, innovative projects to life in Middleton!

You can apply today, scan the QR Code, or click this link: https://form.jotform.com/252932046272051

Deadline for applications is 20 JANUARY 2026.
