Rotary Middleton Founded in 1933, Rotary Middleton is a volunteer-led group that supports local and international causes through fundraising, projects and service.

For over 90 years, members have helped improve lives while promoting Rotary’s motto, “Service above self".

🎶 Proms in the... Church?! 🎶

What an absolute triumph today’s "Proms in the Park" turned out to be! Moving the event inside the beautiful Long Street Methodist Church didn't dampen anyone's spirits; in fact, the venue was packed to the brim with an amazing turnout!

Here are a few highlights from a truly memorable afternoon:

🎤 The Rock Choir brought the house down and well and truly raised the roof with their incredible harmonies.

🕺 Middleton's very own Babalola brought the Motown magic, getting everyone moving!

🇬🇧 The fabulous Peter Allonby served as master of ceremonies, rounding off the day with an unforgettable sing-along to classic "Last Night" anthems, Rule Britannia, Land of Hope and Glory, and Jerusalem.

Thanks to everyone's incredible generosity, the bucket collection raised a fantastic £460! Every penny will be split between Rotary Middleton and the Greater Manchester Building Preservation Trust (the proud owners and guardians of our historic, Grade II* listed Long Street Church and School Rooms).

WEATHER UPDATE: It’s Proms... indoors! ☔

The countdown is down to one day—everything kicks off tomorrow at 1pm!

Mother Nature isn't playing along, so with heavy rain forecast for Bank Holiday Monday, we're moving the summer party inside where it's warm and dry.

Rotary Middleton’s final Summer Proms will now take place at Long Street Methodist Church.

Event Details:

Date: Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August 2026

Time: Starts at 1pm

Location: Long Street Methodist Church, Long Street, Middleton

Line-up: Unchanged! Featuring a 200-strong Rock Choir alongside local favorite, Babalola.

We’re still closing out the season in true Proms fashion with our traditional "Last Night" sing-along to Land of Hope and Glory and Rule, Britannia!

Bring your flags, your voices, and your holiday spirit. Let's raise the roof and wrap up the summer on a high note. See you tomorrow!

🌧️ WEATHER UPDATE: It’s Proms... NOT in the Park! 🎶

The countdown is on, but Mother Nature had other plans! With all the heavy rain over recent days and more forecast for the weekend and Bank Holiday Monday, we’re moving the summer party indoors to keep everyone dry.

Rotary Middleton’s final Summer Proms will now take place at Long Street Methodist Church!

Event Details:

Date: Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August 2026

Location: Long Street Methodist Church, Long Street, Middleton

Line-up: Unchanged! Featuring a massive performance from a 200-strong Rock Choir, alongside Middleton’s very own local talent, Babalola.

We’ll be wrapping up the summer in true Proms style with our grand "Last Night" sing-along to Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia.

Bring your vocal cords, your enthusiasm, and don't forget your Union Jacks! Let's raise the roof and end the season on a high note. See you there! 🇬🇧✨

A massive shoutout to Graham Smithies and his amazing ensemble of local talent, The Middleton Wilberries! Hearing our very own home-grown singer-songwriters take the stage and share their original music made today extra special. Middleton’s music scene is truly something to be proud of! 🎸🎤

It was also an absolute honor to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale to Jubilee Park. Thank you both so much for attending and showing your support for our local community and creative talent. 👑

Thank you to everyone who came down, set up their picnics, and soaked up the fantastic atmosphere.

🗓️ Save the Date!
Our final concert of the summer is on Bank Holiday Monday, 31st August from 1:00 PM in Jubilee Park! We’ll be welcoming the amazing Rock Choir alongside local Motown legend Babalola.
