🥳EXCITING TIMES AHEAD!....

The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed some 'things' appearing at the site of the former Village Hall

We're very excited to confirm that contractors have started on site, with set up and ground prep continuing this week, weather permitting🤞

Work is being phased, however we're over the moon to confirm that we do expect our new hall to open in 2026!🥳🥳🥳

We're planning more activity that will keep everyone up to date moving forward. In the meantime, if you would like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you. Just pop a message to this page or email [email protected]

This project is being made possible thanks to support from UK Government from the Community Ownership Fund and Durham County Council

The years of hard work are coming to fruition and our new Village Hall is getting ever closer!

✅️ Funding secured
✅️ Demolition of the old hall
✅️ Planning permission for the new hall
✅️ New lease for our existing plot

We have a great group of local volunteers working on the project, but we can't do it all alone. We're at the point where we're able to offer some short-term paid contracts to help us as we prepare to be 'new-build ready!'

We're looking for suitably experienced, skilled, enthusiastic people, who are interested in the following self-employed/ contracted opportunities to run between October and December 2025:

Update on progress following the completion of the demolition of the old Hall.

Planning permission has been submitted and tender documents are being produced to obtain a cost for building the new Hall.

The works are progressing well with the completion of the asbestos removal. The inside of the Hall looks different!
The demolition works will start tomorrow with the removal of the timber panelling and then continue on Monday with delivery of the remote machine to demolish the structure.
Over the weekend will be the last time anyone will have to view the old Hall prior to this happening.
We are also planning the next steps for the new Hall and news of this will be released shortly.
