A poem written by one of our leaders, with honour and pride in aid of today❤️

In remembrance of those fields of green, beneath the sky,
Where silent winds and whispers lie,
We gather here, with hearts aflame,
To honour those who bear no name.

The 1st North Ormesby Scouts, neckerchiefs of yellow and black,
Stand proud, remembering the fallen from way on back,
With badges bright and flags held high,
They pause, they bow, with silent sighs.

In the quiet of November’s light,
We remember those who fought the fight.
Who gave their all, both young and old,
For freedom’s flame, for peace to hold.

Beneath the poppies, red and true,
The echoes of their courage grew.
In every step, in every prayer,
Their spirits rise, still with us there.

With Baden Powell’s call so clear,
We stand as one, remembering here.
The lives they gave, the dreams they dreamed,
Now etched in time, forever gleamed.

As Scouts we march, as Scouts we stand,
A solemn pledge with steady hand.
For those who lost, and those who gave,
We vow to keep their memory brave.

So on this day, when all is still,
We honour those with iron will.
For the 1st North Ormesby Scouts know true,
The fallen’s legacy lives with all of you.

Today we, 1st North Ormesby Baden Powell Scout group, joined many others, young and old, in honouring the lives we lost by proudly attending our local remembrance service.

All ages stood together as one and paid our respects to those fallen and lost. This is something we take immense pride in and we participate every single year, not only for those lost, but for the community of North Ormesby.

We are grateful that we are able to be here today, when others sacrificed their lives for us.

Every one of our children did us proud today, and we are overwhelmed with the comments we had from many about their behaviour and how well they represent us as a group. We couldn’t be happier.

Thank you to those who were there today. Ex soldiers, the local community, police officers, members of the church. We are proud and grateful we yet again, got to be a part of an amazing service.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them ❤️

⭐️Meet our leaders!⭐️

Last but not least, we have Amanda who is our Group Scout Master! She started Cubs at the age of 8 and progressed through all of the sections and received the top awards! She then started as an Assistant Scout Master, then Scout Master and eventually took over as Group Scout Master when our beloved Graham Rutherford sadly passed away. She has carried on running the group, as well as the Scout marching band! She is also Area Commissioner for Northumbria area and HQ training commissioner for the association! She is amazing at what she does and we are all truly grateful for her!

All of our leaders are DBS checked and have completed their Safeguarding and First Aid training!🙌🏾

⭐️Meet our leaders!⭐️

I present to you… the Scout Leaders!

Ben is our Scout and Senior Scout Master and has been a member of the group since he was 5! He progressed through all the sections and received all of his top awards. He even went on to achieve his Gold Duke of Edinburgh in which he was invited to St James Palace in London to be presented with! He is a fantastic asset to the group, especially in the scout section in which his knowledge and experience shines through!

Ryan is our Assistant Scout Master! He started his scouting journey at Cub age and progressed through the sections in which he also got his top awards! He went off to university for a few years, then on returning he decided he wanted to be a part of the group again and so joined us again as an incredible leader!

All of our leaders are DBS checked and have completed their Safeguarding and First Aid training!🙌🏾

⭐️Meet our leaders!⭐️

Here we have our fabulous Cub leaders!

Richard is our Cub Master and has been a leader for around about 12 years, but has been part of a group as a parent helper since 2010! He is also HQ commissioner for Cubs for the whole of the Baden Powell Scouts Association and is known across the association as Akela Red! He is a wonderful Cub Master and loved by all!

Sylvia is one of our Assistant Cub Masters and has been a leader for 70 years! She joined the group as a leader after being a guide, as girls weren’t allowed in scouts back then and has been an asset to our group ever since!

Sarah is one of our Assistant Cub Masters. She became a leader after coming up through the group as a youngster! she received her top award as a senior scout and then decided she wanted to stay in the group as a leader and make a difference, just as others had done for her. She had been a leader for 10 years now and she is brilliant at what she does, we are very lucky to have her!

And lastly, we have Rosie, an Assistant Cub master. She also has progressed through the sections from being a tiny little Cub! She received all of the top awards and decided she wanted to also make a difference in other children’s lives, just like her siblings did! She is a very accomplished leader and we couldn’t do it without her!

All of our leaders are DBS checked and have completed their Safeguarding and First Aid training!🙌🏾

⭐️MEET OUR LEADERS!⭐️

First up we have our Beaver leaders!

Rebecca is our Beaver Master who has been a part of the Baden Powell Scouts Association since she was a Beaver herself! She has come through every section and now as a leader, has stepped into the role and is caring for the children who start at the same age she did!

Natalie is one of our newest leaders, who found our group through being mutual friends with another leader. She has been with us for 3 years now and she is a fantastic addition to our Beaver colony and to our group!

All of our leaders are DBS checked and have completed their Safeguarding and First Aid training!🙌🏾

Hello everyone!

We are 1st North Ormesby Baden Powell Scout group! We are a non profit organisation who aims to provide a safe space for children ages 4+ to improve their physical and mental development, life skills, behavioural development, traditional scouting skills and to make new friends.

We run our group every Monday evening from 6:30pm - 8pm at St Alphonsus church hall in North Ormesby.

There are 4 different age groups:

• Beavers: ages 4 - 7.5
• Cubs: ages 7.5 - 10.5
• Scouts: ages 10.5 - 15
• Senior Scouts: ages 15 - 18

Within our group, children may get the chance to go on a variety of trips, camps and days out. We would love to see some fresh faces and to give more children in our community some unforgettable experiences!
