The Link CIC is a local organisation that works with young people between 3 to 18 years, to help support them through times when they are experiencing emotional troubles and mental health problems. We are a non for profit organisation so our main focus is in supporting the people we work with and their families. We do this through structured one to one work that includes Arts Therapies, and also t
hrough group activities for children and parents/carers where the emphasis is on support, training and awareness and/or fun. OUR MISSION
* To deliver an inclusive and diverse range of high-quality, client centred, therapeutic interventions for young people and their families who require emotional and mental health support.
* To raise the profile of Child Mental Health and it’s effects on families, relationships, education and communities.
* To continually invest in training, education and development of the workforce to maintain a high-quality service. OUR VALUES
RESPECT – we’ll respect children, young people, families, other professionals and our team. SUPPORTIVE – through encouragement, understanding and caring approach to build positive relationships with children, young people and families. EMPOWERMENT – making children, young people, families and staff feel strong and empowered to have a voice. TRUST – to trust The Link to treat children, young people, families and staff with the kindness and the honesty they deserve. Following a CAMHS Needs Assessment in 2010, a gap in service provision was identified at a Tier 2 (Early Intervention) level. A 12-month Pilot was then commissioned through the CAMHS Budget to see if such a service could prevent escalation of difficulties to statutory level. In 2011 The Link CIC was formed to enable continuation of this successful Early Intervention provision. Early social/emotional development and physical health provide the foundation upon which cognitive and language skills develop. High quality early intervention services can change a child's developmental trajectory and improve outcomes for children, families, and communities.
