A big thank you to our grassroots champions and supporters who believe in the work of TM&C.

We received a generous donation from a local church group last week. We're so fortunate to have communities that recognise our work.

The Middlesbrough Waste Engagement Team is keen to work with communities to discuss recycling and answer any questions. They are happy to have a stall or hold an engagement session for groups.

During these 2hr sessions, they provide information on how to recycle properly in Middlesbrough. They can explain what can and cannot be recycled at home, and what happens when something is added to recycling bins/sacks that should not be there. In addition, they can discuss the changes to recycling that will happen this year and also demonstrate how food waste will be collected.

If you feel the communities you work with would benefit from a group session or an information stall, please reach out to Charlotte Taylor ([email protected]) directly.

The Saabat Gallery is one of the most popular venues in the area.

Located in South Bank, Redcar, they provide high quality creative activities from early years and families, young people and adults. They have strong ties to local schools, colleges and universities.

When possible, TM&C funds projects linked to the Feast of Fun programme.

The Gallery's Christmas and New Year programme ran over five days, giving parents and children a well-earned respite during what can be a difficult time.

Over 130 children attended the sessions over the five days.

The Christmas Activities Programme successfully engaged children and families through a range of inclusive, seasonal creative sessions. The programme provided a safe and welcoming environment where children were encouraged to take part in festive activities alongside their parents or guardians. This shared participation supported positive family interaction and contributed to a calm, enjoyable, and inclusive atmosphere throughout the programme.

Activities delivered included Christmas card making, Christmas decoration making, winter themed crafts, and New Year crafts. These hands-on sessions allowed children to explore creativity at their own pace while developing fine motor skills and confidence. Children were able to take their completed crafts home or display them within the shared space, fostering a strong sense of pride, ownership and achievement.

The programme had a clear positive impact on participating families. Children consistently left sessions feeling confident, accomplished, and enthusiastic to return. Parents and guardians highlighted the welcoming nature of the sessions, noting that their children felt comfortable and supported in a space where creativity was encouraged without pressure or rigid instruction.

One of the grassroots organisations we work with on a regular basis is Hope for East Cleveland.

At Christmas, we were able to fund their Feast of Fun Christmas Party.

They hosted a between-the-holidays FoF day for local children and their families.

Hope provided games, crafting and nutritious meals at a time, in the week between Christmas and New Year, which can be difficult for so many of us.

"Thank you, I needed to reset," and "it's great to see him having some physical fun away from his X-Box," were just a couple of the comments Hope received from parents.
