I can't believe we haven't done this sooner! We've never properly introduced the legend that is Miss Helen Spalding!!! Dont worry though! Here she is! Drum roll everybody!!! π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
My love and passion for dance started at a very young age when I began training at the age of 3 years old. I love performing and danced professionally for many years, travelling across Europe and Asia. I then realised my true passion was teaching and passing my knowledge onto others. I competed as a child myself and strongly feel this is so important for personal growth.
Dance allows children to interact through a common interest , helps build their confidence and team working skills and allows them experiences they would not normally be exposed to.
I love to see my students achieve their personal goals and targets, especially through examination results and scholarship nominations.
I have students who have gone on to some of the top Uk performing arts colleges and vocational ballet schools and have then gone onto work professionally within the industry. Proud is an understatement!
I have also nurtured students into taking their own teaching qualifications and some of these are now part of the teaching faculty within my own school.
I have been a festival , Championship and Miss Dance/Dancemaster adjudicator for 25 years now and Iβm also an association examiner.
Our SEN class has now entered its third year and I have to say itβs been one of the most rewarding things Iβve ever done. I truly believe that dance should be available to everyone and when they took their very first exam in July this year I couldnβt have been any more proud π
