🎣🌿 Catch A Good Feeling C.I.C. Update 🌿🎣

We've been extremely busy recently with numerous business meetings and project planning sessions, but we've also been spending the last few days down at Old Barnburgh Pond helping out wherever we can. 💪☀️

With the hot weather, we've been carrying out some much-needed maintenance work. The grass had turned into a bit of a jungle! 😂🌱 We've been cutting back overgrown areas, carrying out litter picks, and making a start on cleaning both the inlet and outlet streams.

It's great to see steady progress being made, and every little bit helps. 🙌

Today we also tested a barley straw sack to help combat the algae, and we were genuinely impressed to see visible results within around 20 minutes! 🌾💧
We'll be back over the coming days continuing to chip away at the jobs that need doing. On Monday, we'll be focusing on a clean-up of the streams that feed into the pond. 🌿🚜

A big thank you to all the local residents and visitors who have shown us respect, support and encouragement while we've been working. It really is appreciated and helps keep us motivated. ❤️

Slowly but surely, we're moving in the right direction. 👍

☀️🎣 Fishing For George Project Session – Bank Ends East End Lake 🎣☀️
What a beautiful day we’ve had down at Bank Ends East End Lake today! The temperatures were soaring, reaching around 32°C, so from the start we knew the fishing could be a little tough in the heat.

Our service users stayed safe and comfortable throughout the session, relaxing in the shade, keeping cool, and making sure everyone stayed topped up with plenty of fresh cold drinks when needed. 🌿🥤

We were also treated to some absolutely beautiful farmhouse food from McCallums Bank End Café 🍽️👌 which went down a treat in the sunshine!

Only the one fish landed today — but what a fish it was! 🎣🔥
Young Kaylem set the pace early on with this stunning common carp caught using a yellow RG Tropicana wafter 👏🐟

Even better, it was his very first time fishing the fishery too! Massive well done young man - give yourself a very big pat on the back 👌💪

Days like today are what it’s all about: fresh air, good company, staying safe in the heat, and making memories by the water. ❤️

🎣 Saturdays Fishing for George tester session at Old Barnburgh Pond was a brilliant day all round!

It was great to see different species of fish coming out throughout the session, along with a beautiful 7lb+ common carp! 🐟🔥

Big well done to everybody involved 👏🏽 Great effort, great company and plenty of smiles on the bank!

We are back out again TODAY for our Bank Holiday Special at Bank Ends East End Lake! 🎣☀️

We’ve already had another beautiful common carp out early on… but will there be more to come? 👀 We shall soon see later on today!

Another great Fishing For George project session! 🎣☀️

Although we wasn’t graced with any catfish this time, we were definitely blessed with some proper big carp instead! 🐟🔥

Between us all we landed 10 fish lost 3, majority doubles with the biggest fish of the day being an incredible 24lb mirror carp! What a session! 💪🎣

The fishery and the fishing itself were absolutely spot on and we want to say a massive thank you for another great day on the bank.

We also enjoyed a fantastic meal from King Kebabs in Wisbech 🍔🌯 absolutely spot on and very much appreciated after a long day by the water! 👌

Unfortunately, our acting cameraman’s phone decided it wanted to go for a little swim… 📱💦 and one of our service users also sadly lost a sentimental item 😔

As much as we can laugh and joke about it now, it’s definitely a reminder to everybody to keep a good hold of valuables when close to the water -especially in weather like this where everything seems to want to take a dip! 😅

All jokes aside, we learn from these things, stay positive, and keep moving forward together.
