⛺️🌲1st Methlick Scouts – October Weekend Camp at Haddo House!🌲⛺️

What a fantastic weekend of Scouting, teamwork, adventure and fun! 🌲🔥

Our Scouts were kept busy from start to finish, pitching their patrol tents and dining shelters, building their own dressers for washing up, and getting stuck into patrol inspections. ⛺️🪢

There was plenty of learning too, with pioneering, maps and navigation, as well as a wide game and Tennikoits! 🚶‍♂️🥾🗺🧭

The Scouts worked together in their patrols to prepare and cook their own breakfast and evening meal, developing those all-important outdoor cooking and teamwork skills. 🍳🔥🥘

And of course, no camp would be complete without gathering around the campfire for a sing song, hot chocolate, bap and jam, lots of laughs and some well-earned relaxation. 🔥☕️

But most importantly, it was about making memories, building friendships that last a lifetime and having lots of fun along the way!❤️🏕️

A brilliant weekend, and we couldn’t be prouder of our Scouts! 👏⚜️

🏕️ What a weekend! 🏕️

Our Scouts and leaders have had a fantastic weekend camp at Haddo House! They worked hard, challenged themselves, made memories and, of course, had lots of fun along the way. 💪🔥😃

A huge well done to all our Scouts for their effort and enthusiasm! 👏

Now it’s time for everyone to get some well-earned rest! 😴 More photos to follow once we’ve had a chance to sort through them all! 📸

Well done, Scouts! ⭐⚜️

What a fabulous night Cubs had at Ellon Fire Station!
We learned about fire safety, all the kit that the fire fighters wear and carry, smoke alarms and more!

Everyone was having fun using the water hoses.

We ended the night with a very special investing ceremony for our 2 newest Cubs.

Thanks to Dave and Vicky for hosting us.

This week, our Squirrels were treated to an interesting presentation from one of our young leaders about his summer adventure at the Blair Atholl Jamborette! 🌍

They heard all about camp life, making international friends, exciting activities, and the tradition of badge swapping. The highlight for many was getting the chance to try on neckers from around the world and even a genuine Boy Scouts of America uniform shirt! 🇺🇸

Thank you, Rory, for sharing your experiences and inspiring our young Squirrels with the spirit of international Scouting. 😊

September marks five fantastic years of Squirrels in the UK!

We celebrated with a lively Squirrel Drive, plenty of cake, and the investiture of three brand‑new Squirrels joining our drey.
Here’s to many more years of fun, friendship, and adventure!

In preparation for the Scout BBQ on Friday, a small Hut Maintenance Team started to clear the ‘ice rink’ at the back of the Hut. This is going to be used as the Nerf Arena and Tin Can Alley. Phil also cleared the gutters around the hut which was badly needing done. A couple of hours work has made a huge difference.

If you can spare any occasional time the Team would love your help for future maintenance. You don’t need to be professional just a good pair of hands. Back again on Thursday at 6.30 if you are free !
