Today the division marks the 56th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster. On behalf of st John ambulance cymru we lay a wreath with the following prayer.

Lord of all compassion. Embrace in your loving arms. All who are grieving the Loss of family and loved ones through tragic circumstances; We pray for those caught up in the midst of tragedy and disaster. For those who have lost life and those working to save life. For those who are worried for people they love. For those who will see their loved ones no longer.
Lord have mercy.
Where lives are in turmoil, hope turns to despair and pain is all that is felt. Be with them in their sorrow, uphold them with your strength, and through the generosity of Love shown by others and your presence within their hearts. For those in need of peace that passes all understanding. For all who turn to you in the midst of turmoil. For those that cry out to you in fear and in love.
Lord have mercy.
For those in confusion and in despair. For those who's tears are not yet dry. For those in need of your unending love. May they know they are not alone in their struggle through today.
Lord have mercy.
Amen. Pro Fide Pro Utilitate Hominum.

Following a period of turmoil and uncertainty, normality is slowly returning for many but there are some changes we all must still face, here at merthyr vale aberfan division we have been slowly reintroducing class nights.

we are proud to announce that we are now running adult class nights regularly and are open to new members. Please contact us if you are interested in joining us.

Unfortunately at present we do not have the facility to start back badgers and cadets, if any of our previous young members would like to continue with St John please contact us as there are still opportunities to continue with other local divisions.
