Dove Cottage Day Hospice Dove Cottage is a Day Hospice in Leicestershire. We offer high quality care to people with any palliative diagnosis.

Our aim is to offer care and support for you, your families and carers through our day care and family support services. Dove Cottage Day Hospice is situated in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir. We are an independent organisation offering high quality palliative day care to those people living in NE Leicestershire, Rutland and SE Nottinghamshire with supportive and palliative care needs, living with advanced progressive life limiting illness. We offer over 3,700 day care places every year and have a high carer to guest ratio. All of our services are provided free of charge, including a wonderful home-cooked 3 course lunch, with any special dietary needs catered for. Dove Cottage has a homely and peaceful atmosphere. Our purpose built premises include a lounge, dining room, quiet room, complimentary therapy room & bathroom as well as lovely gardens with magnificent views over open countryside.

This week has been and at Dove Cottage we rely heavily on our community not just to help us fund our services, but to help us enrich the days at the hospice for our patients too.

That's exactly what Marcelle Needham does. Not only does she regularly volunteer her time to run craft sessions at the hospice, but she also helps to coordinate a group of equally talented ladies of The Crafty Ladies of Melton Mowbray and produces lovely hand-made decorations to brighten up our hospice building.

This week we are showcasing the brilliant themed bunting that they kindly made for us, which is currently displayed in the hospice lounge, not far from the beautiful wall hanging that they presented to us earlier this summer, which followed the beautiful garden cushions that they made last year!

You'll often find the ladies at local craft fairs raising money for lots of local causes, and they have also recently made a donation of £130 to us too!

Support of community groups such as this are so important to us and we are incredibly grateful!

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our raffle at Melton Mowbray Food Festival last weekend, you helped us raise over £130 towards local hospice care!

Congratulations to Anna from Great Dalby who was the lucky winner of this fantastic hamper.

A huge shout out and thanks also to Belvoir Farm for donating the delicious drinks and of course Brockleby's Pies for giving us a reason to be there!

We're thrilled to announce the first of our brand-new networking opportunities!

From November, we’ll be hosting a brand-new Leicestershire group at our very own hospice. This group will be an addition to the well-established Screen Pop family which already has over 40 groups across the UK and offers a friendly and relaxed alternative to the ‘traditional’ business networking style.

We’re looking to offer a space for local businesses to build genuine connections, relationships and create opportunities for members to thrive.

Hospice care eases the physical and emotional pain of death and dying. Letting people focus on living, right until the end.
But nearly 1 in 3 people don’t get the care they need at the end of their lives.

With government funding varying wildly from hospice to hospice, the financial support they receive – and the care available – can be left to the luck of the draw.

We believe that everyone deserves high-quality hospice care, whoever they are, and wherever they live.

So, while we’re celebrating hospices and their brilliant staff this , we’re also pushing for change and joining Hospice UK in saying: don’t leave hospice care to chance.

Help it to be there, for all, for now, forever.💛
