With a break in my heart and tears in my eyes I am so sorry to say Peacock WI has been suspended.😢
For reasons out of my control.
The last 3 years we have achieved so much, made some lovely memories and friends.
Thank you to all the members who made Peacock WI what it was. 🦚🦚

We’re on the lookout for letters written by WI members!

Do you have a treasured letter from your mother or grandmother, or an important piece of history preserved by your WI committee? Whether it’s an emotional exchange with a friend or family member, an opinion piece for a local paper, or a statement of views to her MP, we’d like to see writing about the WI, from WI women, from 1915 to now.

If you have a letter you’d like to share, please email a clear photograph or scan to [email protected] with ‘LETTERS’ in the subject line. We’ll take it from there!

As we are in the final hours of 2025, I would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt Thank you to the Poppy Committee, members of Peacock WI, St Bartholomews church and Corsham Town hall for the continued hard work and support you all gave during the year to make the Poppy project the success it became. Andrew Hall for providing the pop up shop, what a great help, amazing space and what turned out to be a lovely community hub!
The support by popping your head round the door meant so much to us all.
I would also like to thank the TIC and Library for having the collection boxes and your support during the year.
All the Children for making the pompoms, they looked great.
Corsham print for making the Poppyometer and printing of all the flyers. Corsham Hardware for all your advice in different materials to use.
All the shops and businesses who got involved in decorating your windows, everyone looked amazing, and most importantly each and everyone one of YOU
far and wide, from Corsham to Cornwall, Wiltshire to Scotland from England to New Zealand and lots of places in-between for knitting and crocheting 32,000 poppies. The whole project passed all expectations.
😊🌸😊THANK YOU 🌸😊🌸
Wishing each and everyone of you a healthy and peaceful New Year.

If your child made a pompom either at school or Youth groups and they would like one (many asked if they could) the Poppy shop will be open this afternoon and Saturday morning, so please pop in and collect one.

There are still some photos of the Royal visit, if you were lucky enough to shake hands there may be a photo.

The shop will be closing over the next week so please do pop in and collect a pompom and look at the photos.

Thank you ❤️

The beautiful Poppy cascade hanging from the St Bartholomews is being taken down this morning.
You would have noticed the displays throughout the town have started to come down.
All shops, businesses and private homes have been encouraged to keep and store their poppies safely ready to reuse next year. ♥️
