We are a group of residents in Whitley and Shaw who are keen to maintain a vibrant community hub in the village and explore the possibility of running a Village Shop and Post Office.

If you live in Whitley or Shaw and are interested in finding out more about how our lovely Community Shop operates, or if you'd like to become a member or a volunteer, please come along to our AGM on Sunday 20th September at the Reading Rooms in Middle Lane, from 6.30pm.

We'll be reporting on the year's trading and activities, sharing insights from our adviser from the Plunkett Foundation and celebrating another successful year of supporting our local community. And drinking tea.

We're always looking for new volunteers. You don't have to commit to a regular shift behind the counter – there are lots of ways to get involved and you can give as much or as little time as you like. It's tremendously rewarding and a lot of fun. Our volunteers have made firm friends through the shop and a lively and competitive skittles crew too!

Come along next Sunday to find out more or just to hear about what we've been up to in Whitley Stores.

We are open 9 - 5 Mon to Sat and 9 - 4 on Sundays.

There are roadworks starting this week on Corsham Road, with some partial road closures and restrictions throughout August.

But don’t worry, we will be open as usual throughout, with access via Top Lane and other lanes through the village as the roadworks move.

Remember us if you need some essentials and don’t want to battle your way out of Whitley to get into Melksham! We’re open 9-5 on Monday to Saturday and 10-4 on Sundays.
