🐥 We’ve had an influx of Barn Swallow chicks the past few weeks! Most have fallen from their nest in the heat or their nest has collapsed with the hot dry weather we’ve been having. The chicks will be cared for here at HART until independent and then they’ll be released back to the wild!

❤️ We are desperately in need of cleaning supplies, gloves and waxworms to keep the hospital running! If you would like to help, please consider purchasing some much needed items from our Amazon Wishlist. We really appreciate all your donations and support!

🐥 These baby Nuthatches came into HART after being found on the ground in woodland. They were much too small to be out of the nest yet so were brought into HART to be cared for. Sadly, one of the siblings was already deceased when they were found but the remaining two are doing well in our care. One of the two surviving chicks had a small head wound which she has received treatment for and the wound is now completely healed. It hopefully won’t be too much longer before they’re independent and can be returned to the wild.

🦉 Our team is currently caring for six Tawny owlets. They’ve come into HART for a variety of different reasons and some needed treatment for injuries. We’re pleased to say that all six are currently doing well and are now out in one of our large flight aviaries where they can practice flying!

❤️ We’re in need of chick crumb, growers pellets, and mixed corn for the many ducklings currently in our care. If you’d like to help us care for them, please consider purchasing some duckling food off our Amazon wishlist. We really appreciate your support!

🐥 This tiny little House Sparrow chick came into HART after being found on the ground. As you can see, he is definitely much too small to be out of the nest yet!
We’ll never know what lead to him being on the ground but he’s now safely in our care and will be hand-reared by our dedicated team.

☀️ It’s super hot this bank holiday weekend and it looks as though the sunny weather may continue into next week! Please help our wildlife in this heat by leaving out a shallow dish of water for them! Even the tiniest of creatures will be thankful!

These young field voles have been hand-reared by the team here at HART and are now weaned onto solid food! As you can see, they’re really appreciating the cool water in this hot weather! 🐭❤️

🦔 Derek the young hedgehog we introduced you to last month was released this week! The wounds on his side and behind his ears healed really well and he was also treated for ringworm (a fungal skin infection) whilst in our care. We’re all really pleased with the progress he made!

❤️ If you would like to support our work rehabilitating hedgehogs, please consider becoming a regular supporter! We receive no statutory funding so rely completely on the generosity of our kind supporters. Every donation we receive makes a huge difference!

🐥 These young Great T**s are very lucky to be alive! They managed to get themselves trapped within the cavity of a wall where they would have perished if it wasn’t for the kindness of the homeowner who broke through the wall to rescue them! They’re now being cared for here at HART and will be released back to the wild once independent.

❤️ We’re in need of nitrile gloves and blue roll. With the number of animals in our care increasing every day, we’re going through a lot of nitrile gloves and blue roll in making sure everyone is clean and fed. We really do appreciate every donation made so thank you!

🦔 This little hedgehog looks a bit different to how he should normally look! He unfortunately lost a lot of fur and spines due to a nasty skin infection but is now on the road to recovery. It hopefully won’t be too long until all his fur and spines grow back.
