Carnival has lost one of its brightest lights.
It is with deep sadness that Masqueraders Carnival Club marks the passing of Tracey Brunton, who passed away far too soon on 13 May 2026.
Tracey first became part of the Masqueraders family in 2008 as a supporter before becoming a full club member. From the very beginning, she brought energy, passion, laughter, and a personality larger than life itself.
Tracey did not just love carnival - she lived it. Having grown up within the carnival community, she carried the true spirit of carnival in everything she did. She encouraged younger members, created lifelong friendships, and inspired so many around her. She represented everything that carnival should be - welcoming, vibrant, loyal, passionate, and full of heart.
While Tracey will always be fondly remembered by all at Masqueraders, her impact reached far beyond our club. The wider carnival community has lost a true character and an unforgettable presence.
In more recent years, Tracey became Chair of Renegades Carnival Club, where she continued to inspire a whole new generation of carnivalites with the same warmth, dedication, and infectious spirit that made her so loved by so many.
Our hearts bleed for Paige, Megan, and all of Tracey’s family and friends - and there are many. We also send our thoughts and love to everyone at Renegades Carnival Club at this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you, Tracey, for the memories, the laughter, the friendship, and the incredible mark you leave on carnival.
Sleep tight, carnival queen. 💜
