What a fantastic day out! The Maybole Makers had the absolute pleasure of visiting The Great British Wool Revival Summit at the stunning Dumfries House on Tuesday.
We were so inspired by all the incredible craftsmanship, the beautiful wool displays, and the wealth of knowledge shared by fellow makers!

Join Renata Kaminska for a hands-on workshop where you will design and carve a Lino printing block and print on fabric or paper

In this 2 hour workshop you will have the opportunity to carve your own lino printing block and create your own prints on fabric or paper.

Using a pre-cut fabric base, add scraps of colourful, patterned fabrics, snippets of ribbon or lace, embroidery stitches, buttons and beads to make a piece of textile art that you can sew onto a garment or keep as is.

All tools and materials provided, but feel free to bring along anything personal or sentimental you would like to incorporate into it.

Discover the intricate beauty of Wycinanki the traditional Polish art of paper cutting. In this hands-on workshop, Renata Kaminska will guide you through the folding, cutting and layering techniques that have decorated homes and celebrations in Poland for generations.
Originally created using sheep-shearing snips, these detailed designs were displayed in windows, on furniture and gifted at Easter and Christmas.
No experience needed just a steady hand and a little patience. All tools and materials provided.

What a week it’s been! The Maybole Makers have been busy bees, and we are so proud of everything the community is pulling together right now:

➡️ We’ve transformed The Gatherings into a dedicated community arts and crafts workshop space. ( running until this Thursday 7pm )

➡️ Our Crannog Project with the talented David Powell continues over at the library ( March 25th 10am - 5pm, please note from 12 onwards this will be outside only; 26th 12.30pm - 5pm; 27th 10am - 5pm )

➡️ We are BBC famous! Our Marvellous Maybole initiative got some serious love on the BBC Scotland pages. It’s amazing to see our town’s community spirit get the recognition it deserves!
