Friday Oct 23 - The Odyessy

If you see only one film this year- make it the Odyessy. Like epic swords and sandals films Ben-Hur, Spartacus or El Cid this film- shot partly on the rugged North East coast of Scotland, will stay with you! We are planning an all Greek night with Greek olives and nibbles, books of the Odyessy for all ages, Homer's masterpiece, for sale and this three hour masterpiece on a huge screen with surround sound.
Starts 7:30pm The Carrick centre, Maybole KA19 7DE. Ticket £6. Cash please!

This month we are having an open mic night! Bring your instruments, bring your friends and let's make it a great night of music!🎤🎼
We can provide microphones & a speaker for backing tracks but you would need to bring your own guitar amp !🎸

We are having a clear out & have a few items available to collect ! All of them are used but in good working condition, we have a soft velour ball pit, a folding travel cot and a small cart with cushions showing faces on one side & connected emotion words on the other( might be useful for a school or nursery). All items are free but any donation you could give would be gratefully received !

🧠 University Challenge or Universally Challenged...?

What do we do on the weeks we're not officially meeting? Usually end up meeting anyway. 😂

Last weekend, a few brave members had the bright idea of putting our collective brainpower to the test at some local quizzes in the area.

After a hilarious attempt at Kirkmichael Arms Est 2023 the less said about the better, 'The Wonky Tablers' managed a respectable third place at The Carrick Centre!

Big thanks to Deirdre at The Carrick Centre and our very own Big Chris and Kev at Kirkmichael for cracking quizzes, even if some of our answers left a bit to be desired. 😂

Great to get out, catch up and meet more folk in the area.
