🔵⚫️ NATIONAL SHIELD FINAL- MATCH REPORT 🔵⚫️
Carrick RFC came out on top in a thrilling 10-try contest against Haddington at The Hive, running out 35–29 winners to lift the Shield.
Carrick struck first, with Louis Fraser picking a clever line to power over, converted by Nicky Davidson. Haddington responded strongly with three quick tries to take control, but Carrick hit back through Euan Hutchison, showing great pace to finish, before edging ahead just before the break.
Half-time: 21–17
Carrick started the second half fast, Kieran McCurdie crashing over with power, Davidson adding the extras. Momentum stayed with Carrick as Michael Kirk grabbed two—one from a strong close-range drive and another sharp finish out wide—both converted to stretch the lead.
Haddington refused to go away, scoring twice late on to set up a tense finish, but Carrick’s defence held firm in the closing stages to secure the win.
