Can you help? In DC.

6/13/26 Urgent!! Moose in Washington, DC needs a new home!

Moose is about 9 years old in Washington DC and needs a new home. Her person can’t take care of her diabetes the way its needed with their work schedule. Her person doesn’t have any help and can’t change jobs. Because of this Moose misses her insulin doses often.

Moose deserves a long healthy life and she can get it with a new home. She can be shy but loves people after she gets used to you. Moose is fine with kids but doesn’t like dogs and doesn’t love other cats. She’s on insulin and wet food only. Moose is very sweet and cuddly.

If you can help Moose, please message on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/mariam.saad.33

***Please keep messages civil and directed towards finding Moose a new home!*** ~Lisa

Eastern Shore, VA.

Beautiful senior Salem needs an adopter or foster, stat, in a home without other cats. Please read entire post and please no nasty comments. .

"This is my friends cat, Salem, he's 13. He needs a new home. This year he's become very upset with living arrangements. He lives with 2 other cats, and has for much of his life, but now he's unhappy with them. He is making messes in the house due to stress. HOWEVER, when he's been placed with a family member who has 0 animals, he's a happy loving cat again that uses the box. However, that family member cannot keep him due to work and travel.

My friend has had him all his life, she has done a full vet workup of him. No illness, dementia, or anything other than stress. They have tried medication, the plug-ins for stress, all of it.

We have tried to find him a home working with local shelters. 1 said to make him an outdoor cat. She won't because of foxes and things that could harm him. Another wants her to surrender him so they can adopt him, but sje doesn't want him living in a shelter cage while he waits for a home. I can't take him because I have a cat and foster so my home will stress him.

Right now he lives isolated to a room. He's not marking or being aggressive, but she doesn't see living in a single room as quality of life for him.

Could someone help him find a final home in his last years? Also if he doesn't work out for you she will take him right back. She wants him to be loved and cared for."

**This is a courtesy post only, please contact [email protected]. Please do tell them you saw Salem on NoVa Cats.

Salem is located in Eastern Shore, VA. (Close to VA beach and Salisbury MD)

Want to be a key part of a rewarding journey?

Got a month or so coming up without a vacation planned?

Got an indoor area where these 2 really lovely girls can stretch their legs?

If so, please consider fostering Dotcom and BW Jr., who have been languishing in a rural shelter without interest for over a year!😣

These docile kitties just need a wee bit of time to blossom, so we can see how they do out of a cage. They may be sisters, they may be cousins, but these ~2 year olds came from the same place that had a whole bunch of neglected black and white youngsters living outside. These ladies want to be your indoor gal pals and just need a quiet (foster or permanent) home to thrive!

Fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped, AND their adoption fee has been sponsored! Meet these cutie patooties at the Clarke County Humane Foundation in Berryville. Please let us know if you visit them!

Having two ancient little snugglers climbing all over you is positively heavenly. 😍😍 (Ignore the patchy fur, Boots was shaved due to matting, but it's growing in nicely.)

Boots and Twitter have been on this earth for 21 years, and are looking for someone who can provide love and laps for however many moons are ahead of them.

No meds to give, just wet food, fresh water, and love. Like any older person, they do benefit from supplements we add to their food, such as probiotics, and cosequin for creaky joints. Message us at [email protected], or comment below.

Everyone, no matter their age, deserves to have a furry companion, if they are able to care for it. And for older adopters, the gentle demeanor of senior cats are a much more logical match than energetic kittens.
