Volunteer events are a fantastic way to meet new people, gain a sense of achievement through the completion of a practical task and give your time to help YHA. During volunteer events, individuals come together as a group to complete a practical task. The choice of where you go and when is up to you and events can include a garden tidy, painting rooms, or giving a much loved hostel a good clean up. You don’t need to be a DIY whiz or a gardening guru. Although skills are, of course, welcome, we are mainly looking for volunteers who are happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. Volunteer events are a fun way to give your time with no ongoing commitment and provide valuable CV enhancement to help with further education and employment applications. To attend a volunteer event, you must be aged 16+, enjoy working in a team, and be happy to roll your sleeves up and get involved in practical tasks. It's also worth noting that some of our Volunteer Events can also count towards your DofE Gold Award Residential section!
