Darley Dale Scout Group Darley Dale Scout Group is based in Darley Dale, Matlock, Derbyshire for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts

Darley Dale Scout Group is situated between Churchtown Primary School and the Church Inn, Darley Dale. We have been a significant presence in the area for more than eighty years. Generations of boys and girls have benefited from the positive activities and pursuits provided for them. Below is a brief description of the Scouting Sections we have to offer at Darley Dale, please note that all section

s are open to boys and girls: -

Beavers (6–8)
We take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities. We take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them. Cubs (8-10½)
We take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging. A Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors. Camps and holidays are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs. Scouts (10½-14)
The Scout section has more challenging activities and more in-depth challenges to do.

What a fantastic night we had at Midland Canoe Club with the Derbyshire Scouts Paddlesport Team! Brilliant! Whoosh!

Another year, another Beaver/Cub camp - and this year, we travelled through a year in a day!
After some fantastic pizza making with Fire and Fizz Pizza we kicked off the ‘year’ with a NYE PJ party - all the old classics were danced to followed by Auld Lang Syne and a (lemonade) toast - Cheers 🎉 !
The next morning started with Valentines crafts ❤️, a pancake day breakfast 🥞 and then onto Spring crafts 🌱, bug hunts and pond dipping. The kids were April Fooled with edible bugs 🐛 for snack (followed by biscuits!) before setting off for an Easter Egg hunt with a difference 🐣. St George was celebrated at our picnic lunch 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 which gave the kids the energy they needed for Maypole dancing, Midsummer crafts ☀️ and then some Harvest Festival 🍁 games and races. The bunkhouse was made into a Halloween fun house 👻 and fires were lit to celebrate bonfire night 🔥. Of course we couldn’t end the year without an epic Christmas dinner 🎄- I think we can say a great time was had by all - and we need to give a massive THANK YOU to all who helped over the weekend.
