Sean Caley, a recently retired art teacher with 32 years of experience, has always produced his own work in various materials. Now focusing on print techniques and painting in diverse mediums, Sean is excited about showcasing a new series of landscapes that explore the beauty of Bonsall and its surrounding countryside and will be located in his own studio during the trail.

Sarah Perkins is a proud member of both the Association of Animal Artists and the Society of Equestrian Artists. Her technique is self-developed, using the paint with a mixture of dense layers, dry dragging and layered washes of colours.

Sarah A E Parkin has a rich background in visual arts, with previous exhibitions at Bonsall and other local arts trails. Her current body of work focuses on watercolour landscapes and prints, as well as mugs and cards inspired by nature. Sarah's artwork also includes etchings that have been enhanced through digital editing, adding a modern twist to her traditional medium.

A true community celebration of art is returning to the Peak District this summer!

We are supporting the bi-annual Bonsall Arts Trail once again. The event takes place on 20th and 21st June, where 81 artists will exhibit across the village, from community spaces to artists’ own homes.

As part of the trail, the Longcliffe Prize will again recognise an exhibiting artist whose work reflects ‘sustainability’. Open to both 2D and 3D pieces, entries will be shortlisted to eight works and displayed in the village hall alongside entries from a children’s competition that has already created a real buzz at Bonsall School.

With live music, local food and a more accessible village-centre route this year, the event continues to grow as a highlight for the local community and visitors alike.

Richard Slater started his journey in leather craft with a desire to create products that buck the trend of our disposable society and produce items that will not only last but will develop a beautiful patina with age. Richard's products are minimal in design and created with heritage skills, cut and saddle stitched by hand. He uses predominantly vegetable tanned leather, which is more eco-friendly and hard-wearing.

Richard Allen is a painter based in Heage, Derbyshire, who paints primarily with watercolour and acrylics. The inspiration for his paintings comes from the Derbyshire countryside, trees, rocks and the sea.

Peter Aitchison is a travel photographer with over 40 years experience. His current body of work is a collection of images captured from places he loves visiting. Each piece is a mix of travel and street fine art photography, focusing on real life colour and texture, without any landscapes. Peter prints his own work, producing genuine giclee fine art prints, using only the finest papers and museum mounts.
