Another opportunity to come together in preparation for the Matfen Fete.

☕️ 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 – 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲! 🌿

Join us on Wednesday 27th May, 3–5pm in Matfen Village Hall for an afternoon of tea, cake, conversation and creativity.

This month we’ll be making lovely lavender bags and botanical soap bars for the Matfen Fête produce stall — a little bit of “scent-sational” fun together! 🧼💐

Whether you fancy:
☕️ a good cup of tea
🍰 a piece of cake
💬 a friendly chat
or simply a chance to get out and see people, there will be a warm welcome waiting for you.

Parking for Matfen Fête will be available in the field at the cricket club entrance on the road out of Matfen towards Stamfordham...thanks go to the Scott's at Corneyside for the permission to use the field.

We would really encourage everyone attending the fête to use the field parking where possible. It will help keep the village safe and accessible, especially as farming vehicles may still need to get through during the afternoon.

Parking is just £2 per vehicle, with all proceeds supporting Holy Trinity Church, Matfen.

Please also remember to park considerately and avoid blocking entrances, gateways or access routes.

There are some wonderful prizes to be won and every ticket helps support Holy Trinity Church, Matfen and this year’s fête. 🐥⛵

Tickets are:
£1 per ticket
£5 per book

Matfen Fête takes place on Saturday 4th July, 1pm–4pm, on the village green, with cream teas in the village hall. 🍰☕

☕🍰 Need a little sit down during Matfen Fête?

Why not cross over the river from the main fête on the village green and visit Matfen Village Hall for cream teas, coffee and cakes! 🫖

There’ll be delicious homemade treats, a warm welcome and a chance to relax for a while before heading back out to enjoy the stalls, games and activities. 🍓🧁

Matfen Fête takes place on Saturday 4th July, 1pm–4pm, with all funds from the cream teas helping support Holy Trinity Church, Matfen.

🚑🍰🎉 If anyone needs first aid during Matfen Fête, please contact Reverend Rachel on 0791 668 1128. There will also be a first aid box available at the Cake & Produce Stall, which will also act as the lost children point during the afternoon. 👧🧒

Do make sure you visit the Cake & Produce Stall while you’re there! There will be a wonderful selection of home baked cakes, fresh produce, preserves, crafts from Matfen Community Time and much more. 🍓🧁🍞🫙

🎟️ Grand Raffle Prize Donations Needed for Matfen Fête 🎟️

Preparations are well underway for this year’s Matfen Fête on Saturday 4th July, 1pm–4pm, and we are now looking for donations of prizes for our Grand Raffle.

We would be so grateful for support from local businesses and individuals. Whether it’s a gift voucher, hamper, bottle, experience, homemade item, service, or something else entirely, every prize helps make the raffle exciting and successful.

The fête is the main community day in Matfen each year and raises funds for Holy Trinity Church, Matfen, while bringing the whole village together for a wonderful afternoon on the green.

💛🌿 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐰𝐨? 🌿💛

Sorry to post on here but I didn't know how else to reach the community quickly! There is a ewe and two lambs wandering along the stream where lots of people walk their dogs. If you know the farmer, please let him know. If your walking dogs please keep them on lead and be aware

We had a lovely time at Matfen Community Time last week. Plenty of people just had a cuppa and a chat, however, we also had our craft table out and a handful of us made candle and pressed flower bookmarks for Matfen Fete (the Matfen Fete this year is 4th July 1pm-4pm)...
