We're already looking ahead to Matfen Fête 2027, which will take place on Saturday 26th June.

Following the success of this year's event, we'd like to move towards a wider team of volunteers sharing the planning. If you think you could help with any aspect of the fête, we'd love to hear from you.

We're particularly looking for people who might be interested in:

Overall coordination
Seeking business sponsorship
Social media and publicity
Advertising and promotion
Or taking responsibility for another part of the event

We'll also be holding a planning meeting in the autumn, so keep an eye out for more details. We'd love to welcome some new faces to the team and build on everything that makes Matfen Fête such a special day for our community.

Hi everyone. Thank you so much to everyone who helped with the Matfen Fete yesterday and to those who came along and supported it. I had a wonderful day and I hope you all did as well.

One of the favourite traditions at Matfen Fête is back – the Duck Race!

Choose your duck, cheer it on, and see if it's the one that crosses the finish line first. It's a simple bit of fun that always attracts plenty of friendly competition and laughter by the river.

Just visit the Duck Race stall when you arrive to register your duck and find out the launch times.

The Duck Race takes place during Matfen Fête on Saturday 4th July, 1–4pm, with races starting from 3.30pm.

Have you started building your boat yet?

One of the highlights of this year's Matfen Fête is our Boat Race, taking place at 2.00pm on Saturday 4th July.

Get creative, build your own boat at home, and bring it along on the day to see how it performs on the river. Whether you go for a pirate ship, a Viking longboat, a tug, a dragon or something completely original, we'd love to see your ideas.

The only rule is no motorised parts – everything else is up to your imagination!

Register your boat at the Duck Race stall when you arrive and ask about the race times.

We can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. Who will be crowned this year's winner...

Wondering what's happening and when at this year's Matfen Fête?

You may have noticed that a large marquee is going up on the village green. That's because we've made a few changes to the layout this year. Saturday is currently forecast to be a little windy, so we want to make sure everyone can enjoy the afternoon in comfort. The good news is that it's also looking pleasantly warm, and at the moment we're hoping to avoid any significant rain.

Here's the timetable for the afternoon. We will begin with The Hodgson-Kain Band will be playing to get things going, then there's the ever-popular boat race at 2pm, more music, the duck race at 3.30pm, and we'll round the afternoon off by drawing the Grand Raffle at 3.45pm.

Throughout the afternoon there'll also be plenty of stalls, traditional fête games, cream teas in the village hall, Fire & Dough pizzas, Robbie's horse trailer bar, veteran cyclists and much more.

We hope you'll come along and spend the afternoon with us on Saturday 4th July, from 1pm to 4pm. It promises to be a great day for all the family while helping to support Holy Trinity Church, Matfen.
