Maryport Rescue is an Independent Lifeboat,flood Rescue & Search & Rescue team based on the Solway Firth. We have been established for over 35 years and work closely with partner agencies to ensure we maintain a fully capable and ready service to those on need on the Solway and surrounding areas. We are an independent charity and rely solely on the kind-heartedness of the general public to help keep the service afloat and available to those in need at a moments notice.

A bit of a different rescue for us on Sunday… this time, it was our own kit that needed a helping hand!

While manoeuvring on the station slipway, one of the tracks on our main launch vehicle came off, leaving the Talus temporarily out of action.

Thankfully, help wasn’t far away.

A massive thank you to Colin and Harvey from Maryport Groundworks, who stepped in without hesitation to help recover the Talus and, importantly, launch our lifeboat while repairs were carried out.

Their help meant we could get everything sorted and return the station to its normal state of readiness, ensuring that if the call came, we were ready to respond.

For a voluntary rescue service like ours, having local businesses and people willing to drop what they’re doing and lend a hand really does make a difference.

Community helping community, keeping us ready for when we’re needed most.

In addition to our lifeboats we also provide other emergency services to our communities.
Swifwater, Flood Rescue , Lowland Search and Rescue of lost missing vulnerable person's including Drone operations.
