Marlow Carnival

STATEMENT

Marlow Community Association (Liston Hall) has successfully organised the Marlow Carnival held in Higginson Park in September for the past 20 years or so. The Carnival attracts a wide variety of stalls and activities, providing an opportunity for the Town’s charities and organisations to publicise their activities and raise funds.

The Carnival has been organised and led by a key member of our executive committee, but we now find ourselves without that individual for 2026. The committee has approached several other individuals and Town organisations to see if they would like to take over responsibility for this key event. Unfortunately, we have been unable to find that support for this year.

The Executive Committee of the Association has therefore regrettably taken the decision not to organise the Carnival in 2026.

The booked date for the 2026 Carnival is 19 September and we are already receiving enquiries from stallholders. If any individual or organisation would like to consider organising the Carnival for this and future years, please contact Richard Scott, Association Chairman, as soon as possible for further information.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY – HELP MARLOW CARNIVAL
The Marlow Carnival and the Marlow Community Association (Liston Hall) is looking for passionate and organised volunteers to help lead the organisation of next years Marlow Carnival!
This role can be taken on by one person or shared between 2–3 people — perfect for friends or community-minded individuals who love bringing people together.
What’s involved:
· - Liaising with Buckinghamshire Council and handling event admin
· - Organising stalls, food and drink vendors
· - Coordinating entertainment and activities
Helping ensure this fantastic community event continues to thrive and support local causes.

It’s a fun, rewarding, and fulfilling volunteer opportunity that makes a real difference to Marlow’s community spirit.

Our carnival wouldn't be possible to organise without the help of many local businesses and organisations, and Shanly Foundation has been a great supporter for many years. We are truly grateful for their support. We look forward to Saturday.

Over the last few years we have been very fortunate at the carnival to have great local bands play, and this year is no exception, we can't wait to see Knight - Band perform, coming on stage at about 2pm on Saturday. Many of you will have seen them at The Duke and at Rock Bottom, they are really good.
