HRR Finals Day
An incredible curtain closer after an equally impressive season for all the Marlow crews and rowers who made finals day. The Junior Women led the charge, winning the Diamond Jubilee. Jake (MRC) and Tom followed on in short order to win the Goblets, and then Annie and the GB Women’s eight finished the whole thing on a high by winning the Remenham in style.

So much to be thankful for. Congratulations to Eve, Alice, Lauren, Ione, Jake, Annie, and crew mates. Many, many thanks to coaches Peter Chambers, Kieran Clarke, and Richard Chambers, and all the volunteers at Marlow who, in so many different ways, helped make the magic happen. We also need to recognise the rest of the junior squad on whose shoulders these giants have stood.

Having seen the umpires, recorders, and other volunteers on launches for six days solid, we are reminded of how grateful we all are for all those, visible and behind the scenes, who put a huge amount of skin in the game to make a magical event happen. Run for people who love rowing by people who love rowing, there is no higher accolade. We are all in your debt.

Day 2 in Avalon’s vale and things are heating up in so many different ways. A big day for the Marlow Senior Squad with four crews in action, three prevailed; in the Thames, Danesfield and Britannia and put an incredible race in the Wyfold, sadly not enough to overcome Thames A.

Once again, hugely proud of all those who raced in Cardinal Red.

An incredible start to HRR2026 with some excellent races, verdicts measured in feet and many demonstrations of an ever increasing standard of rowing. Six Marlow crews raced with the Wyfold and Thames crews prevailing to race again on Wednesday. Congratulations to the Marlow PE, Thames, Diamond Jubilee and Wargrave crews for some outstanding performances and never backing off. Chapeau to St Paul’s, R.V.Osnabrucker, Sydney and Thames.

Proud of them, proud for them, and proud to race in Cardinal Red with them.

Henley Royal Regatta - Selected and Qualified
“The struggle is the point.
The struggle isn’t a side effect of competition. It’s literally inside the word.
It’s not to win or get some award.
The point of stepping into the arena is to take a risk, see what you’re capable of, find out who you are, and grow from it.”


Congratulations to all the Marlow crews that took to the water on Friday and Saturday in search of a place on the race card. All acquitted themselves with distinction, left it all out on the water and were worthy of racing in Cardinal Red. We end up with a record entry at HRR; ten Marlow crews racing and five more crews with Marlow members onboard. Bring it on.

Henley Women’s Regatta
Twenty-nine incredible athletes, nine crews (all of whom made it through the time trial), three finals and two wins, what a fantastic three days. We had our Junior, Senior and Development squads in action, all of whom gave full measure; proud of them, proud for them and proud to be in the same club as them. A huge amount to celebrate and be thankful for. Congratulations to all who raced in Cardinal Red and many, many thanks to coaches, Peter, Richard, Jamie, Russ, Ben, Lisa and Molly.

Many, many thanks to all , the volunteers, umpires and officials who built a small town in a field and ran an amazing event.

Marlow Regatta
Back to Dorney for the curtain closer on the road to Henley. Conditions were good, and there was an enormous field drawn from around the rowing world. All up, 147 eights raced in the time trials and then in finals A to S. The Marlow crews raced exceptionally well, made three A finals and won in two categories; performances that augur well for the big one in Avalon’s vale. Congratulations to all who raced in Cardinal Red and to coaches Jamie, Ben, Russ, Peter, Richard, Grace and Maisie.

Huge thanks to all , officials, volunteers and umpires who made such an epic event happen.

British Rowing Masters Championships

So to Nottingham with conditions that make you appreciate wind-free days. There was an incredible gathering of clubs and crews, and that race in the D4+ that needed VAR. The Marlow Masters were in great form, landing 20 finals places, 16 medal placings, and 10 outright wins, magic by anyone’s standards and a lifetime’s worth of stories!

Huge thanks to coaches Mike L, Grace, and Kieran. Also, many many thanks to the volunteers, officials, and umpires who made the magic happen.

Metropolitan Regatta
So to Dorney for a two-day jamboree with a massive entry, every significant rowing programme racing, and clubs drawn from every part of the British Isles and beyond. Saturday’s men’s eights finals saw close to a hundred crews battling it out, pretty much all trying to figure out which way is up ahead of HRR. Marlow had its biggest and most competitive ever entry with over fifty senior men and women racing in ten crews. Some incredible performances, three A finals and a post-regatta camp to look forward to ahead of a welcome return to the enchanted vale and the viaduct of every rower’s dreams.

National Schools Regatta - Record Breakers

Chapeau to Tideway Scullers and Wycliffe College in the final of Championship Girls 4x. “After winning the time trial by 5 seconds and winning their semi-final, Marlow went on to pull a 6:44.25 at Dorney on Sunday, setting a new record in the process (beating Wycliffe’s 6:50.84 set in 2024). Both TSS and Wycliffe also beat the 2024 record, completing the podium”
