Delagua Group Carbon Project Developer, Water Testing Kits, NGO & Government Supplies, Laboratory Equipment

In 1985, the University of Surrey in collaboration with Oxfam developed the Oxfam DelAgua Portable Water Quality Monitoring Test Kit. The Oxfam DelAgua kit enables field workers to test water quality in remote and isolated situations and in circumstances where there is no access to a water testing laboratory. Since its development in 1985, the water test kit is used by all the major International

NGO's and other Aid Agencies in over 130 countries around the world. DelAgua has since began designing and implementing large scale carbon projects. The first such project is 'Tubeho Neza' in Rwanda where we are distributing high quality, high performance stoves to 2.3 million rural households.

DelAgua has resumed the distribution of 75,000 improved cookstoves in The Gambia. The distributions will cover districts in Upper River Region and the five districts in Foni as well as Kombos East, Kombo Central and the North Bank Region. Additionally, each beneficiary household will receive one on one training on how to use and maintain the stoves, ensuring long-term behaviour change and adoption.

The stoves distributed cut firewood usage by 71% and reduce harmful smoke emissions by 81% compared to traditional open fires, delivering multiple measurable health, climate, gender and economic benefits for people, communities and the environment.

In 2023, DelAgua distributed over 76,000 stoves across Lower River Region, Central River Region & Upper River Region, impacting 662,740 lives. At DelAgua, we believe that every rural household should have access to cleaner and safer cooking.

Over the past decade, DelAgua has developed a highly efficient project implementation system that allows our 'Live Well' programme to reach even the most remote villages in Rwanda, Sierra Leone and The Gambia.

Since the project’s inception in 2012, DelAgua has distributed 2 million stoves; the majority of them delivered to rural areas that are not easily accessible due to limited road infrastructure or geographical isolation.
