We look forward to celebrating tomorrow

Will you be celebrating our 8th birthday with us tomorrow at Marlborough Common parkrun? The forecast looks great, The Common looks amazing and we have cake! If you'd like to bring some cake with you to share we'll have even more cake! Or bring us a bag of jelly babies to share. 🎉

We start at 9am with a briefing for first time visitors with Justin at 8.45am by the cars. RD Alison's briefing will be shortly after that at the start.🎉

We're joined by Marlborough Common 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer tomorrow - if you've been affected by cancer in any way, they would love you to join them.🎉

We know we have some important milestones to celebrate tomorrow - very exciting! 🎉

Usual important reminders.

UNDER 11s MUST STAY WITHIN ARM'S REACH OF A RESPONSIBLE ADULT AT ALL TIMES. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Dogs - one per participant- on a short, hand-held lead. No waist or extendable leads please.

There is a 10 mph speed limit on the track to the car park.

Only enter the finish funnel if you have completed 2 laps. Stay in position and take a token. Not scanning? Just hand the token to barcode scanner.

We lock up after the event so please don't leave your car parked on The Common. It will be locked in.

Please join us at Marlborough Golf Club where there are excellent after parkrun refreshments available. Just leave The Common and keep turning left and you'll be in the car park where parking is free! Our grass car park is signposted.

Did I mention there will be cake? 🎉

Thank you to Marlborough St Mary's Primary School who brought staff, pupils and their parents along. We hope you had lots of fun!

222 of you came through the finish funnel but we know a lot more started with some of you completing one lap of The Common. The start was very busy! 50 of you visited The Common for the first time today - please come back and see us again! 25 of you have gone home with shiny new PBs.

Thank you everyone who joined us this morning at Marlborough Common parkrun - event 315 was a warm one - The Common is parched!

Thank you to the 30 volunteers who made this morning possible. Please show Alison, next week's VC, the same support next week.

Thank you for following the 10mph speed limit - we're almost there. We have extra marshals along the track and there will be new signs in a week or so.

148 of you ran or walked today. 15 of you have shiny new PBs! 35 of you were first time visitors to The Common with at least 6 of you taking part in your very first parkrun!

PLEASE REMEMBER THERE IS A 10MPH SPEED LIMIT ALONG THE TRACK - IF YOU ARE LATE, YOU MUST STICK TO THIS. DON'T BE LATE!

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered this week. Midweek the roster was looking very sparsely populated. Please consider volunteering once over the next few weeks - half the core team are away and many regular volunteers are on their holidays too! 🏖

Well done Tony. We love seeing you regularly walking at Marlborough Common parkrun

If you are a regular at Marlborough Common parkrun, you'll recognise Tony Prior who completed his 100th parkrun on The Common yesterday morning - he's completed a total of 132 parkruns. His first visit to The Common was in February 2023. Welcome to our 100 Club Tony!

Tony, 87, took part in the annual Bushy parkrun meet up for parkrunners who are aged 80+. He was one of 180 80+ and 90+ parkrunners who took part. You can read about it here:
