We have fully qualified professional counsellors should you need additional support. All conversations are private and confidential together with dementia friendly volunteers who are trained in dementia support. We can offer help in filling in all those difficult forms such as

PIP and can help
direct you and put you in touch with the right people to get you started. If you are a carer or someone who is receiving care, we have trained volunteers who can make sure you are getting the right help. We also offer tea, coffee and biscuits if you want to pop in for a chat with our lovely volunteers. During the winter months we offer a cosy pack containing a hot water bottle and blanket, sometimes with a hat and scarf. These are available from The Acorns for a small donation. Helpful Friends is open 12-4pm on Tuesday and 10-1 on a Friday, above The Acorns Community Hub, 76 Market Place, YO43 3AW
