A Monday morning Active Start, here at the Poplars in Market Rasen.

Following on from an initial warm up, our lovely residents showed their competitive streaks in a game challenging their hand eye co-ordination, using pool noodles and a balloon. 🎈

We then moved on to balance and dexterity with soft footballs, lots of big smiles and laughter, a fantastic start to the week enjoyed by all who took part. ⚽🥰

The Broadbent Singers from Market Rasen kindly joined us at The Poplars on Monday, providing a wonderful afternoon of music through the years. 🎶

Residents enjoyed singing along to familiar tunes and, with support from staff, some even got up to dance. It was a lovely afternoon filled with music, laughter and plenty of smiles! 💙

On Saturday, our most senior resident, Vera, had the pleasure of presenting one of our longest-serving carers, Anne, with her 20-year service certificate 🎉.

Vera said it was an honour to present it, and Anne was genuinely surprised and delighted to receive her certificate along with some chocolates 🍫💛.

A wonderful moment celebrating dedication, care, and long-standing commitment!

Last week, one of our residents noticed a swarm of bees near our holly tree here at The Poplars!
Luckily, our Activities Co-ordinator Shelley has a bee-keeping brother who was able to come and re-home the bees in short order!
Residents were very interested to hear all about it and see the photos, and are looking forward sampling the honey at some time in the future, although Simon said it might not be this season as the bees will take time to settle.
This afternoon, we had another swarm fly over us, so we're keeping our eyes, and ears, peeled for another 'bunch of bees' in a tree!

We welcomed members of the congregation from St Thomas's church in Market Rasen, for the first of our regular Holy Communion services, which will be taking place on the second Thursday morning of the month. Our next one will be on Thursday 10th April at 11am! 💙
