On Saturday, our most senior resident, Vera, had the pleasure of presenting one of our longest-serving carers, Anne, with her 20-year service certificate πŸŽ‰.

Vera said it was an honour to present it, and Anne was genuinely surprised and delighted to receive her certificate along with some chocolates πŸ«πŸ’›.

Last week, one of our residents noticed a swarm of bees near our holly tree here at The Poplars!
Luckily, our Activities Co-ordinator Shelley has a bee-keeping brother who was able to come and re-home the bees in short order!
Residents were very interested to hear all about it and see the photos, and are looking forward sampling the honey at some time in the future, although Simon said it might not be this season as the bees will take time to settle.
This afternoon, we had another swarm fly over us, so we're keeping our eyes, and ears, peeled for another 'bunch of bees' in a tree!

At The Poplars, we celebrated Valentine's Day by welcoming our ever popular Live Entertainment 'Watt No Amp'. πŸ’™

Residents and staff were singing and dancing away in our armchairs and taking to the dance floor! It was a fantastic mix of music and tempos and something for everyone to enjoy and had a real party atmosphere and there was much appreciation expressed by residents when the session finished. πŸ’™πŸŒŸ
