To all of our amazing volunteers!

A reminder to all our volunteers 🙌 💫

Behind every great adventure in Harborough District is a group of adults who love working together, sharing a laugh, and making things happen.

You don't need a background in youth work or outdoor survival to fit right in. A great team needs all kinds of people, whether you are great at organizing kit, managing logistics, sharing a specific hobby, or simply offering a welcoming smile to a young person trying something new.

There are no immediate expectations and absolutely no pressure. We offer total flexibility so you can gift the time that genuinely works for your life.

If you've been searching for a meaningful way to connect with your community and clear your head after a busy week, we’d love to have you.

No rush. Just a warm invitation to be part of something great.

While our local meeting halls are quiet over the summer holidays, our behind-the-scenes teams are looking ahead and preparing for a fresh start this coming September.

When people think of Scouting, they usually picture outdoor hikes, tents, and badges. But to keep those activities running safely and sustainably across Harborough District, we rely heavily on a strong operational foundation.

You don’t need to wear a uniform, put on a neckerchief, or lead youth sessions to change local lives.

As a local charity, our Group Executives and Trustee Boards are where real community impact begins. We are looking for people who can share their professional skills or life experience, whether that’s helping us manage finances, looking after equipment, assisting with local governance, or just offering a steady, logical perspective to help us grow.

The time you give is entirely up to you, and we offer a supportive, welcoming environment to get you settled.

If you've been looking for a meaningful way to use your background to give back to the Harborough community, maybe this is the summer to think about it.

No immediate commitments over the holidays. Just an open invitation to share your skills.

August is here, and while local schools don't head back until the final week of the month, our team is already quietly brainstorming ideas for an incredible new term this September.

Looking at this image, you see what volunteering is really about. It isn’t about being an extreme outdoors expert; it’s about sitting down, offering your patience, and helping a young person figure something out for themselves. It’s those quiet moments of guidance that help them build skills for life.

Whether you have a specific craft to share, a hobby you're passionate about, or simply want to help keep our activities running smoothly behind the scenes, your presence makes a difference.

There's no pressure and no immediate rush. We provide full training and completely flexible scheduling so your volunteering fits comfortably into your autumn routine.

Enjoy the rest of the August holidays. If you've been looking for a rewarding way to connect with the Harborough District community, we would love to start a conversation with you before the new term kicks off.

Our Scout groups across the Harborough District have now finished for the summer, but behind the scenes, we're already looking ahead to our big return this coming September.

While things are quiet over the holidays, we're sharing this to give you time to think about the kind of impact you could make.

True leadership isn't about shouting or knowing every survival skill. It’s about being a steady, reassuring presence for young people, standing tall alongside them as they try new things, overcome challenges, and find their own confidence.

It takes a team of proud, dedicated adult volunteers to build those skills for life.

There's no rush and no pressure. The time you give is entirely up to you, and we provide all the training and support you need to feel confident in the role.

If you've ever wanted to do something of real value for your local community, maybe this is the summer to step forward.

No immediate commitments. Just an open invitation to lead.
