🥊 In Loving Memory of Steve Tighe 🥊

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the passing of a true gentleman, a brilliant referee, and a dear friend.

Steve was a massive part of our boxing journey, having refereed countless contests for our lads over the years. He brought fairness, integrity, and passion to the ring every single time.

Me and Nico had the absolute pleasure of visiting him just last week. Even at the end, he showed us all what he truly was: a fighter right until the very last bell.

We are incredibly grateful for the memories we shared. There are some great pictures of Steve refereeing our lads over the years hanging proudly on our gym wall—and that is exactly where they will remain, keeping his memory alive every day.

Steve will be deeply missed by myself, everyone here at Quarry Lane Boxing, and the wider boxing community. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences go out to Steve's family during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, mate. Your final bell has rung, but your legacy will always stay on our walls and in our hearts. 🕊️❤️

After training this morning, Nico and I had the absolute pleasure of dropping in to see Steve Tighe. We’ve both known him for years, and it’s a privilege to call him a friend. One of the best boxing referees in the country, a true boxing man, and an absolute gentleman. 🙏🥊

There is no magic formula in boxing. In an age of YouTube tutorials and TikTok clips, where everyone is searching for the next "secret" to success, remember this: the only formula in boxing is mastering the fundamentals. Mastering them takes time, discipline, and repetition. There are no shortcuts to mastery.
