Our registered manager Dave & his wife Sharon were invited to MTFC Academy Awards night to present Joshua Cappin with an award for his Outstanding Contribution to the Mansfield Town F.C. Academy.

Joshua has consistently shown exceptional dedication, professionalism and character throughout his time at the club. Highly respected by both Academy and First Team staff, he has become a role model to his peers through his work ethic, positive attitude and the way he supports those around him.

Alongside his achievements as a scholar, Joshua has also made a huge impact within the community, particularly during visits to The Oaklands Care Complex, where his kindness, respect and ability to connect with others truly stood out.

His commitment to self-development has also seen him secure a Business Management Apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce Holdings, standing out from a field of more than 1,400 applicants — a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the standards he sets for himself every day.

Joshua represents everything the Academy strives to develop in a young person, and everyone is incredibly proud of the person he has become. Congratulations, Josh.

Denise & Dawn hosted a 60s & 70s Memory Lane Cafe, guests enjoyed 70s music bingo, music quiz, raffle, buffet and drinks then danced the afternoon away to Drew & Stix's Jurassic Rock! 🦖

A busy couple of days here at The Oaklands 🙂

Our lovely Betty & Gail have been for a much needed cut & blow dry. They both enjoyed their pamper chatting away to the hairdresser & loved their new look 🩷

Friday some of our ladies enjoyed an afternoon tea with entertainment at The Hostess Restaurant. I must say it all looks very delicious 🙂

Happy Birthday to our lovely Simon 🎉

Today our Simon celebrates his Birthday with lots of cards & gifts from his family, friends & key worker 🎉

Simon has been out with family, enjoyed a big chocolate Birthday cake & has gone for a dance at our Monday night disco 🎉

Simon will celebrate further on Wednesday in our activity session with lots of party games & fish & chips for lunch 🎉

On Friday we got together with our friends from Corner House to celebrate VE Day 🇬🇧
Our Tracey scored a bullseye at axe throwing 🎉
Simon from Corner House & our entertainer Jayne Darling were the best at the target shooting 🎉
We made our own paper planes & held a flying competition, now some did a loop the loop, others did a nose dive but our Betty’s made it the furthest with a very elegant flight across the room 🎉
Dan & Sue’s team won our very British quiz 🎉
Everyone danced & sang along to the songs of the 1940’s performed by the fabulous Jayne Darling Vintage Singer
