It's Volunteers' Week! 🎉

Volunteers’ Week is an annual UK-wide campaign that celebrates and recognises the incredible contributions of volunteers across the country ✨

This week, we're shining a spotlight on all of our fantastic volunteers and the difference they make every day at Acorn Village. Their time, dedication, and support help enrich the lives of the people we support, and we are truly grateful for everything they do. ✨ Exciting news - our onsite charity shop at Acorn Village will be closed for one week (Monday 1st to Sunday 7th June) while we carry out some much-needed refurbishment work to make the space even better for our customers, volunteers, and supporters ✨

During this time, our amazing team and volunteers will be busy helping with the refurbishment, which means we won’t have the capacity to collect, sort, or process donations as usual.

We are incredibly grateful for every donation we receive and we absolutely still need your support. If you were planning to donate items to either of our shops this week, we’d be really grateful if you could hold onto them for just one extra week until we reopen.

Your kindness and patience will help us complete the improvements quickly so we can come back refreshed.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and we can’t wait to welcome you back when we reopen on Tuesday 9th June 💚

Our Day Services department have been taking part in the Manningtree Earth Festival and has created a fantastic display in our Manningtree High Street Charity shop!

Several items in our High Street shop have been upcycled during the Day Services Earth Project sessions. Residents, attendees and staff have all put great thought and creativity into their designs, with the aim of inspiring others to upcycle clothing purchased from our charity shops.

We’d love for you to visit the shop, enjoy the display, and perhaps even pick up a unique item or two! 💚

I’m sure you’ll agree this is a truly beautiful photograph of the fields in bloom, with Mistley Hall - the elegant Grade II listed Georgian country house, standing proudly in the distance. Mistley Hall has been at the heart of Acorn Village since the very beginning 💚

Did you know our Day Services Centre at Acorn Village has a sensory room accessible to all age groups? ✨

We have some slots available during the summer! Predominately on a Friday (12.30 - 1.30 pm) from 22nd May - 25th September and a few sessions on a Monday and Thursday during August 💚

It’s always worth checking first though, if you're after a particular session 👏

Sessions cost £15 per person for the hour and can accommodate two attendees and 2 carers at a time 💚
