Join us in Carers Week for a Free Tour Secrets of Ancoats and New Islington!

Wednesday 10th June 2pm – 3.30pm

Jonathan Schofield, Guide, Writer, Broadcaster and Public Speaker was awarded the Medal of Honour by the University of Manchester for services to the city and region will be providing our tour.

Jonathan says “Is there any place in the UK which has changed so utterly in the last ten years than this area? With a cracking interior visit inside one of the special buildings in Ancoats, we track the changes by strolling the streets, crossing canals and telling the stories. This is a combination of epoch-making industrial architecture, some bad new build and some excellent new build.

If you would like to attend please contact Karen on 07903 685435 or email [email protected]

🎉The Team Complete the Great Manchester Run!🏅

On Sunday 31st May, 9 members of our staff team and trustees, supported by the rest of the team, completed the Great Manchester Run in memory of the late Dave Williams. We’re all feeling achy but proud of ourselves and each other of what we achieved. We were thankful the weather had cooled a little after last week’s heatwave, and after all our training (and a few injuries along the way!), we all finished the run strong, including some personal bests on the day.

Most importantly though, it was an honour for us to run as a team in memory of our dear friend Dave and raise funds in his name for a cause he cared so much about.

Everything raised will go towards direct support to carers. If you would like to sponsor the team you can still do so here https://ajbellgreatmanchesterrun2026.enthuse.com/manchestercarersforum/profile

Thank you again to everyone who has supported us, it really is appreciated.

Here’s to next year….!🏃

Sponsor the team in memory of Dave

On Sunday, our team will be taking part in the Great Manchester Run in memory of Dave Williams, our much-loved Chief Officer, who sadly died last year.

We’re coming together as a team to celebrate Dave’s life and continue the work he cared so deeply about: supporting carers across Manchester.

Every donation will help us provide meaningful support and breaks for carers, something very close to Dave's heart.

£5 could buy a coffee and cake for a carer at one of our café meet-ups, offering connection and respite

£15 could fund a place at a carers’ rights session, helping someone better understand and access support

£30 could enable a carer to enjoy a day trip - time away to recharge and feel valued

If you’re able to give, no matter the amount, you’ll be helping us carry forward Dave’s legacy and make a real difference to carers in our Manchester community. Sponsor us here!
