INTRODUCTION - WHO ARE WE?
We are part of Cycling Without Age, a global non-profit movement founded in Copenhagen in 2012. Our mission is to bring joy, connection, and adventure to people of all ages and abilities.
Across England & Wales, local Cycling Without Age chapters are run by dedicated volunteers. Each chapter has its own unique identity, but together, we are making a difference - one ride at a time.
WHAT WE DO?
Our volunteer pilots take passengers on trishaw cycle rides around Trafford and Urmston, giving them a chance to feel the wind in their hair, share stories, and reconnect with their community. Our trishaws are three-wheeled cycles with a passenger cab at the front and electric assist, making the rides smooth and accessible for all.
Our rides are:
Comfortable β Designed for a relaxed, enjoyable experience.
Inclusive β Welcoming people of all ages and abilities.
Completely free β Ensuring no one is left behind.
By slowing down and embracing the journey, we help people experience their surroundings in a new and meaningful way.
HOW WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Our work is guided by five core principles:
Generosity β Volunteering time to bring joy to others.
Slowness β Embracing the journey, not just the destination.
Storytelling β Sharing experiences and life stories.
Relationships β Creating new friendships across generations and communities.
Without Age β Ensuring everyone can participate, no matter their age or ability.
Trishaw rides might seem simple, but they bring communities together, improve well-being, and help build a more inclusive world - one ride at a time.
