🔋 Button Battery Awareness Day | Family Hubs

How flat is your battery?
Even used button batteries can still seriously harm young children. If swallowed, they can burn through a child’s food pipe in a very short time if they get stuck.

Simple things you can do:
✔ Keep used batteries stored safely and out of reach
✔ Don’t leave loose batteries lying around
✔ Recycle them as soon as you can

🛒 Recycle while you shop – it’s easy:
1️⃣ Keep used batteries in a small container at home
2️⃣ Take them with you when you go shopping
3️⃣ Drop them into the battery recycling bin at your supermarket

🚫 Please remember – don’t throw used batteries in the bin

Let’s work together to keep children safe 💛

If you think a child has swallowed a button battery, go straight to A&E or call 999

Squishy Dumplings – Read Before You Buy! 🥟✨

Does your child love dumplings, squishy and bright?
The ones that get unboxed and watched day and night?
They’re trending, they’re popular, videos galore -
But not all are as safe as the ones from the store…

Some may be fake, made too quickly, too cheap,
With chemicals hidden that shouldn’t run deep.
They might look the same, but don’t be misled -
Safety comes first in what info is fed

So here are some tips to keep little ones safe:
✔ Buy from trusted shops - don’t take a risk “just in case”

✔ Check labels are there, clear and correct -
No safety info? Best show to leave and reject

✔ And for under threes, it’s best to avoid -
Because safety matters more than a toy enjoyed

Let’s keep playtime fun, worry-free and bright,
Choose safe toys for smiles that last day and night 💛
