The spirit of our lovely area continues to inspire all of us.

When your’re next walking through Sparrow Wood near Cup and Crumb spot the cherry trees , kindly donated and planted out by a grateful local resident Alan Whitehead and his wife Lorna 🙏

As you will see from the photos one has been placed in centre of the circular seat placed in honour of Herbert Lyon ‘Bert’ Tyldesley , a renowned local historian famed for his books about local walks and history of our area

If you get a chance check out the book ‘Out and About’ written jointly by Bert Tyldesley and Elsie Molyneux - great interesting read !

After a hot afternoon finishing our pavement clearance by the motorway bridge our Roe Green Grafters were very grateful for the ice pops and ice lolly given to us by our lovely local resident Laura (well known for her dog walking prowess) 🙏

At a time when we were starting to flag in the heat they certainly helped us to chill out and took us back to our school days (many many years ago 😂)
