Our rota is looking very bare for this Sunday. We need a minimum of 3 marshals and a Tailwalker to be able to go ahead (but ideally would love a 4th marshal and a 2nd barcode scanner too).

Our free milestone wristbands have had an upgrade and now include volunteer milestone wristbands for children.

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for an extra special junior parkrun this morning as we celebrated Olympic Day with Team GB and Olympian Abigail Irozuru! 🇬🇧

58 of you joined us this morning and it was so great to see so many participants running in Olympic colours 💙💛🖤💚❤️

We had 6 first timers today, 3 of which were taking part in their first ever junior parkrun! We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and that this was the first junior parkrun of many for you 👋🏻

Our event couldn't happen without an incredible team of volunteers and the 20 individuals who made today possible deserve an extra special thank you. You're all heroes 💜

Hopefully you are as excited as we are to welcome Abigail Irozuru, Olympic athlete, to our parkrun tomorrow. She will be at the boathouse ready to welcome everyone at 8.45 so please come along then to meet her, members of team GB and parkrun HQ staff.
As mentioned last week it would be great if you could come wearing colours from the Olympic rings or a top from a country that competes at the Olympics.

🏅 Celebrate Olympic Day at South Manchester junior parkrun! 🏅

This Sunday, junior parkrun events across the country will be celebrating Olympic Day, and we're delighted to welcome Team GB Olympian Abigail Irozuru as a special guest volunteer at South Manchester junior parkrun!

To help make the morning even more memorable, Team GB will be bringing along some merchandise to give away, including water bottles and t-shirts. There will also be opportunities to take photos and celebrate the occasion together 📸

We'd love to see lots of families join us for this special event, so come along and help us celebrate Olympic Day with us! 🎉

What a bumper morning in the sunshine at Platt Fields park!
We had 1️⃣2️⃣ people joining us for their first ever parkrun. We hope you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you again next week.
2️⃣4️⃣ participants ran their fastest junior parkrun gaining new PBs 👏👏
In total 85 children joined us today made possible by 1️⃣6️⃣ amazing 🦺volunteers.
Sadly this week we have lost 2 more tokens which weren’t scanned or returned. If you have 6️⃣5️⃣ or 6️⃣9️⃣ (6️⃣4️⃣ from last week) please email [email protected] so we can arrange to get it back or bring it along next week.

See you next Sunday at the boathouse for a 9am start.
