Join us at Manchester Cathedral for an evening of Christmas music in support of The Christie Charity. Hosted by broadcast journalist Michelle Eagleton, the concert will feature musicians, choirs, bands and singing groups, with something for the whole family to enjoy. 🎶

🏃‍♂️ Josh Tweedale is running the Manchester Half Marathon for The Christie Charity completely barefoot!

Josh’s mother-in-law, Linda, has been receiving treatment at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust for around five years. The care she has received inspired him to take on this challenge.

💬 “I can’t put myself in their shoes, so this time, it’s why I’m taking mine off.”

Josh has already raised more than £2,000 for The Christie Charity through two Manchester Marathons. This year, he's supporting our new scanning centre appeal and will be running alongside his wife, Ellie.

💬 “Knowing that the money raised will help create a brand-new scanning centre and support thousands of patients makes me really proud to be fundraising for The Christie again.”

Keep an eye out for Josh this weekend if you're watching the race and be sure to give a big cheer if you spot him! 👏💙

He'll be speaking at our next Spotlight event on the Colorectal and Peritoneal Oncology Centre at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

The centre has an international reputation for treating advanced and early colorectal cancer, appendix and peritoneal tumours.

Get that finish line feeling with The Christie Charity at the Great Manchester Run in 2027. 🏃‍♂️

💙 “My cancer journey isn’t over, but neither is my determination to make a difference.”

After being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer earlier this year, Dave Hartley wanted to turn his experience into something positive and give back to The Christie.

Together with family and friends, he launched Donate with Dave, starting with a JustGiving page before organising a local quiz night and charity raffle.

With prizes donated by national and local businesses, support from friends and the local community, and live music on the night, the event raised an incredible £4,005 from the raffle and quiz alone. 👏

💬 “It was so overwhelming to see how many people supported us, whether through donations, raffle prizes, buying tickets or even strangers donating after seeing my story shared on social media.”

Dave is already looking at more fundraising ideas for next year, including a family fun day and a possible charity cricket match.

💬 “The Christie has now become such an important part of our lives and if I can help the hospital to help even one person as much as they have helped me, then the time and effort going into fundraising will be a success.”
