Friends of Wythenshawe Hall

Friends of Wythenshawe Hall Events and open days are run by the Friends of Wythenshawe Hall. This is extra special to us as it was made from a tree which grew in Wythenshawe Park.

We are raising money to enable us to uphold our motto of "Restore and Protect" and to open our beautiful hall to the public. Until 2010 the hall was managed by Manchester Art Galleries and had a variety of furniture and paintings on display. As the Hall was virtually empty when the Friends group set up in September 2012, we worked tirelessly to raise funds t

o enable us to buy key pieces of reproduction furniture. We successfully secured funding to buy a 4 Poster bed and commissioned a hand crafted copy of a Tudor crib. We now have a few pieces of original Tatton furniture as well as reproduction pieces, giving the house an authentic look but enabling people to actually have a hands on experience in some areas when visiting our interactive story palace.
