This Sunday 20th September, our Open Day theme will be Tatton Connections - celebrating the Tatton family links to other notable families and estates in the North West, and also the connections to local people and institutions.
The always enthusiastic Geoff Scargill will join us for a talk about Local Heritage Hero Sir Edward Watkin. On the 125th anniversary of his death, find out about one of the Victorian era's greatest entrepreneurs and visionaries.
We are also looking forward to welcoming the Revd Andrew Bradley from St Wilfreds Church to speak about Local Heritage Hero Joseph Johnson.
150 years after the rebuild of St Wilfreds find out why the church contains memorials to Johnson and why we should celebrate him today.

You will also have another opportunity to view the fascinating "Who built Wythenshawe?" exhibition.
Following the previous success of the Simon's display, we have another chance to view the exhibition tracing the story of Wythenshawe during the twentieth century. Not only does it tell of the critical role played by Ernest and Shena Simon, the philanthropists who bought and donated Wythenshawe Hall to the people of Manchester. It also tells the history of the Garden City housing plans that changed Wythenshawe from a humble collection of small villages into Manchesterās Garden City.
The exhibition is open to view in the Hall from 11am to 4pm (last entry at 3.30pm)
