Unpopular opinion: Planting trees isn't enough.
Real land restoration means:
• Regenerating soil
• Fixing broken food systems
• Rebuilding entire ecosystems
• Restoring biodiversity
• Improving Water Systems
• All whilst locking in Carbon and creating Oxygen
We are already doing this, while others debate.

Proud of this. Since I relaunched the Green Paw Project back in March 2024, we've been generating funds for carbon offset from 1000s of people in the UK. This carbon money subsequently enables lands to be regenerated, creating spaces for biodiversity to return, improving soil quality, and also improving water quality. We have regenerated around 8 hectares back to its orginal eden from deforestated depleted land.

We work directly with a partner, RAIN, and we work closely with the locals and professionals of Brazil who plant and monitor the success of the new plants.

We've now reached a milestone of generating enough funds for planting over 25,000 trees or mangroves. The majority of this money comes from within the National Coach Network and festivals such as Houghton, Glastonbury, Gottwood, Arc Tangent, Field Maneuvers, etc., via Tuned in Travel. Our goal for 2026 is to plant a further 20,000 trees, and we still have a goal of hitting 150,000 by the year 2030. This is still only the beginning of the journey ahead with the Green Paw Project.

PROUD!

True animal welfare advocates, activists, and ethical sanctuaries all know: captive breeding without a release agenda is fundamentally wrong.

Ethical sanctuaries rescue and release where possible. They don't breed animals in captivity. They provide lifelong care only for those who cannot survive in the wild. Eg animals who are blind or have severe injuries (e.g. multiple limb amputations). They don't trade, they don't breed, and they don't exploit.

Captive breeding under the guise of "conservation" is misleading and cruel. Many so called conservation zoos are just businesses in disguise.

If I could, I’d shut down these exploitative zoos.

We must protect wild animals in their native habitats, not cages. Support only true sanctuaries that work in country and prioritise the wellbeing and freedom of animals above human entertainment.

🌳🌳 Green Paw Project Plants 12,427 Trees and Mangroves in first year 🌳🌳

This initiative is divided into two main projects: one planting Trees in the Cerrado region and another in the Mangroves of Alcântara.

For this project, we have partnered with an organisation called RAIN. We work with a team in Brazil responsible for planting trees and mangroves. Our goal is to ensure these plants survive and thrive.

We don’t simply focus on planting trees or creating monocultures, which can result in "green deserts," such as the UK Pines Forests. Instead, we collect local seeds in Brazil with the help of our team in Brazil.

🌳🌳🌳Our Land Regeneration Approach - Project & Partner Selection
Our projects are designed to provide a range of resilient, long-term solutions to many of the global challenges we face in the world today. A ‘whole-system approach’ is where everything on the land benefits, and this is what we do.

🌳🌳🌳 Whole System Approach - How We Help The Planet
- Producing oxygen
- Planting trees and shrubs
- Capturing carbon
- Enhancing soil
- Cleaning and managing water
- Growing crops
- Protecting biodiversity
- Supporting local communities and land caretakers

Our goal is to plant 150,000 trees by 2030.

A Hidden Legacy...The Kalunga People 🛡️

The Kalunga community in Brazil descends from enslaved Africans who escaped to freedom over 300 years ago. They built hidden settlements in the remote Cerrado, where they thrived in isolation, preserving their African roots, language influences, and sustainable farming traditions.

For centuries, their existence remained a secret—only officially “discovered” by outsiders in the 1980s! Today, they continue to protect their land, culture, and the fragile ecosystems they call home.

Cerrado Myths & Facts: Debunking Common Misconceptions
The Cerrado is Brazil’s most overlooked ecosystem, often misunderstood. Let’s set the record straight!

❌ Myth: The Cerrado is just dry, unimportant land.
✅ Fact: It’s a biodiversity hotspot, home to 5% of the world’s species and a crucial carbon sink.

❌ Myth: Deforestation here isn’t as serious as in the Amazon.
✅ Fact: The Cerrado is disappearing twice as fast, threatening water sources and wildlife.

❌ Myth: Once cleared, the land can be easily restored.
✅ Fact: The Cerrado’s deep-rooted plants take centuries to regenerate—damage is often irreversible.

Protecting the Cerrado is essential for climate balance, water security and global biodiversity. Let’s give it the attention it deserves! 🌎💚

Sustainable Farming Lessons from the Kalunga 🌱

The Kalunga people in Brazil have farmed in harmony with nature for generations. Their wisdom teaches us:

🌾 Agroecology – No chemicals, just natural soil enrichment.
🌳 Forest-Friendly Farming – Growing food without deforestation.
🔄 Circular Systems – Composting and natural soil restoration.
🌍 Ancestral Knowledge – Respecting the land for future generations.

By learning from them, we can farm in a way that restores the planet. 💚🌿

Small actions can have a big impact. Whether you're a business or an individual, carbon offsetting is a simple yet powerful way to reduce your environmental footprint. 🌍

At Greenpaw, we invest in projects like reforestation and mangrove restoration to help capture carbon from the atmosphere. 🌳
