Explore BLUE in the Carlton Club Garden with Manchester's Little Artists! πŸŒ€

An art workshop aimed at three to six year olds (still open to all ages) who want to explore a theme in an open and child-led way. 🧡πŸͺ£ It's going to be messy, creative and about the process, not just the end result. They will be working with two early-years educators who understand the importance of development through art explorations.

The workshop will begin with a circle time introducing the theme, BLUE πŸ”΅. This will involve a story and encourage the children to share their knowledge and become more comfortable with the group.

The workshop will last an hour and a half & there are two to go to: 10am & 1pm!
Hope to see you there! πŸ’™

Hidden in plain sight, Stevie Williams and the Most Wanted Band are one of the most accomplished collectives of musicians you are likely to see anywhere πŸ‘. You can catch them at their monthly residency at the Carlton Club next Thursday from 8pm, the 27th, for free (donations to the band are appreciated). We'll see you here! 😊

All from the Greater Manchester area, each individual carries their own huge reputation amongst their peers for being at the top of their trade. When put together, the sum of the parts is far greater than the whole πŸ™Œ. They have the magic that comes with being impressed by each other's consummate skills whilst being totally respectful of each other's place at the party. If you have had the undoubted pleasure of seeing them perform, you will understand what I am describing. 🎢

When you mention Stevie Williams (bass) to a northwest muso, you get a knowing nod and a "huge player" kind of response. Much respected for his work on 4 strings, he is the driving force behind this outfit and the man responsible for their original material. No slouch as a vocalist either. 🀩

Markie Cresswell, whose Fatboy western swing/rockabilly/fingerpicking playbook adds a distinctive style and flavour to their sound, and is a perfect foil for Billy Buckley's plethora of styles on lap steel, telecaster, Rickenbacker, Les Paul, etc... πŸ‘

Clive Mellor seems to be everybody's choice of a harmonica player. Expert, versatile and intuitive - just 3 words that could be used to describe him. There is nothing he can't play to a stunning level. He can enhance, improve, show off and shut up - the true mark of a class player. πŸ™Œ

Dave Hassell - drums. That doesn't quite cover it. Dave is one of those drummers who, if you provided him with a biscuit tin and a couple of coconuts, would get the job done. Amazingly. What he does, with what sometimes looks like the contents of a skip with stuff dangling all over the shop, is a little short of astonishing. A true juke joint percussionist of the first water. πŸ’›

A very special Saturday night gig is just around the corner when award-winning blues act Kirris Riviere & The Delta du Bruit join us at The Carlton Club on the 29th. 🀩

Kirris Riviere and the Delta du Bruit launched a new era with their long-awaited album in 2023. Emerging from Bristol's earthy blues scene, the band has gained acclaim for their distinctive soulful sound and catchy songwriting, building a reputation for electrifying live performances. They were recognised as one of the top five emerging blues artists in the UK Blues Awards 2026. πŸ‘

Fronted by Kirris Riviere 🎀, who combines theatrical stagecraft, powerful vocals, and skilled songwriting, the band blends diverse musical influences into a compelling sound. Evan Newman, on keys 🎹, contributes significantly to the band's foundation, while bassist Bryan Jones and guitarist Alastair Toms enhance the mix with their deep groove and fiery playing, respectively 🎸. Drummer Pete Warner injects infectious energy into their live shows. πŸ₯

We can't wait to welcome these incredible artists, and want everyone to join us on the 29th. It's free entry with donations taken for the musicians, we'll see you there from 8pm! 🫢

Women's Super League fans, we haven't forgotten about you 🫢. With the league kicking off a little later, at the start of September, we will also release a WSL fantasy league, along with a list of games we will show live. Keep an eye out for that announcement in the coming weeks. 😊

WILL I EVER LET GO OF THE PAST?

An art exhibition curated by Julia Staromlynska.
Vernissage with live music from: Michael Chimal, Slateart, Aubrey Marić, Kamron Jackson & more TBA... 26.08.26 | from 7pm | free entry.

Maybe we were never meant to forget, but to build upon it.
Through visual art, poetry, and music, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on personal histories, shared experiences, and the lasting traces of the past. Inspired by ideas of collective memory, the works highlight how our memories are continuously reconstructed through connection, conversation, and the people around us.

Alongside the exhibition, the night will unfold with a series of engaging moments, unexpected experiences, and opportunities to participate, connect, and create. Whether you're coming to reflect, discover, or simply enjoy the atmosphere, expect an evening where art extends beyond the walls and invites you to become part of the conversation.

Free entry, see you there!
