Today we would like to say a huge thank you to all the mums, step-mums, grandmas, and parent/guardians who support our cadets week in, week out.

From parade nights and weekend training to camps, trips, and competitions — none of it would be possible without your encouragement, patience, and support.

Your commitment helps our cadets grow in confidence, teamwork, leadership and resilience, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do behind the scenes.

Manchester Trafalgar Sea and Royal Marines Cadets are now welcoming new recruits across all divisions!

🔹 Junior Sea Cadets – Ages 10–12
🔹 Sea Cadets – Ages 12–18
🔹 Royal Marines Cadets – Ages 13–18
🔹 Adult Volunteers - Uniformed and Non Uniformed

📍 When: Tuesdays 1900 - 2130
Thursdays 1900 - 2130 (Apr to Sept)
Saturdays 0900 - 1200 (Oct to Mar)


📌 Where: Wall Way, Debdale Park, Opposite McDonalds - Gorton

From sailing and watersports to leadership, teamwork, and confidence-building activities, there’s something for everyone. No experience needed!

Poppy selling and putting up poppies in the local area, our juniors made a beautiful display and we represented Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets at Manchester’s Remembrance Day parade

💪 The Royal Marine Cadets at TS Trafalgar are going from strength to strength!

Since being established in 2024, our Detachment has continued to grow — and we’ve just welcomed our second intake of recruits, who have now proudly completed their initial training to become Royal Marine Cadets. 👏

We couldn’t be prouder of each and every recruit who has worked hard, shown determination, and earned the right to wear the beret of a Royal Marine Cadet. 💚

This intake has also given our more experienced cadets the opportunity to step up and take on leadership roles as Section Commanders, guiding and supporting the new recruits through their training — an amazing display of teamwork and leadership in action. 💪

Over the past few months, cadets have taken part in a packed training programme, covering:
✅ Induction & History of the Royal Marines
✅ Royal Marine Ethos & Uniform Care
✅ Drill & Pass-out Parade
✅ Introduction to Fieldcraft
✅ Field Hand Signals & Basic Patrolling (day & night)
✅ Setting up a Bivvy
✅ Cooking & Feeding in the Field
✅ “Why Things Are Seen”

Training has taken place during evening sessions and two weekend training packages, testing their teamwork, resilience, and commitment every step of the way.

A huge well done to all our new Cadets and our Section Commanders — the whole TS Trafalgar team is incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved so far! 🌟 ‎

Marine Cadet Evans and myself, CI Evans, are taking on the Help for Heroes swim challenge this June raising much needed funds for our veterans and their families. We’ve already smashed our target but we’d love to raise even more! If you are able to donate we’d really appreciate your support 🤩 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

Some of our cadets attend the Lord Mayors Civic Service this weekend, it was a lovely service at Manchester Cathedral followed by reception and a chance to meet the new Lord Mayor.

Five cadets representing Middleton & Chadderton Sea Cadets Stockport Sea Cadets Unit and Manchester Trafalgar Sea Cadets attended and passed the RYA YSS 1 Sailing today - perfect, sunny conditions. Thank you to PO Andy Stubbs for your work and instruction.
