Tonight one of our brilliant volunteers will be taking part in a 12 hour sleep out at their local football team - Oldham Athletic to raise awareness about the challenges homeless people face each and every night.

It would mean a lot if you could spread the word. Any last minute donations no matter how big or small would help to go a long way.

Feedmanchester are blessed with a fantastic group of volunteers!
Without such amazing people we could not continue to do what we do best.

One of our superstars is running in the Manchester marathon this Sunday and the Leeds marathon on the 10th May.

All donations received go directly to fund essential items for our friends sleeping rough on our city streets. If you have a few pounds spare, please, please donate.

10 years ago a small group of 8 started going out on a Friday night with a couple of flasks and some hot food to share amongst the rough sleepers in Manchester.

A 10-year anniversary is an enduring relationship, and that is what our friends on the streets do every day, they endure.

This November, we are marking our 10 year anniversary. We are coming together tomorrow, 21st November, with one of our successful pop up events. We will be located by The Temple Bar on Oxford Street.

Through the kindness of those in Manchester and beyond, we have always had something to share, be it a hot meal, warm clothes, daily essentials or sanitary items that we often don’t have to think twice about how we will acquire or just a deeply needed bit of human interaction over a hot drink.

Pictured below is just a few of the essential items we have been able to purchase thanks to our donors, along with a variety of delicious food options that will be donated by different vendors that we will be giving out to our friends sleeping rough on the chilly Manchester streets.
Thanks to you, we have been able to buy multiple thermal packs, socks, hats, gloves and even more essentials.

Without your kindness, none of this could be achieved so thank you so much to all of our supporters- Manchester, we love you ❤️

!! FEEDMCR 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY POP UP - 21/11/2025 !!

With the weather dropping and the nights getting longer, our friends on the streets need us now more than ever.

For those who have been here a while, you'll know what these are, but for our new followers, we run these pop-up events every few months. We will have tables lined full of delicious food, hot and cold drinks, mountains of warm clothes and lots more.

Share this far and wide, and if you can, consider donating. We are a group made up entirely of volunteers, ALL donations are used to pay for events like this and our regular Friday night runs around the city centre, so as the saying goes, every little really does help!

Winter is definitely coming!!

The team were in really high spirits today, even though they definitely felt the beginnings of Storm Amy!

It was a long run, but this simply served as a reminder that we only have to brave this weather for a few hours, whereas homeless people have to weather many storms on a daily basis - and we don't just mean the rain!

You can help in many different ways, one of them is by donating clothes, shoes, blankets etc. but we also take monetary donations which help us fund the food and hot drinks each week. Remember, whiteout you, we can’t continue to do what we do!

A few words from one of our absolutely fantastic Team Leaders at Feedmanchester -

I started volunteering with Feed Manchester nearly 3 years ago.

Last night was a busy night as it is most Friday nights, with plenty of regulars saying hello. Whilst it’s nice to see the familiar faces and meet many new ones, the busyness is a reminder as to why it’s important to keep doing this. In an ideal world, it would be quiet or we wouldn’t even need to do this at all! Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. Each Friday night I come out with Feed Manchester I am motivated to keep volunteering. I know the team feels this same way as well.

I enjoy going on the runs, meeting new team members and hearing the stories of those on the streets. I have heard so many powerful and moving stories - whole life stories! Despite this enjoyment and the laughs shared with friends on the streets, the gravity and prevalence of homelessness cannot be ignored.

In Autumn 2024, it was recorded that there were 154 people seen sleeping rough on a single night in Greater Manchester. It is clear there is a need for action.

While we are unable to provide beds, hot food and brew can keep someone going. We couldn’t do what we do without the commitment of our fantastic volunteers and all those who donate.

The team had an incredibly busy night last night with two new team members playing an amazing part, you would think they had been doing this for years, but, unfortunately we very quickly ran out of food, leaving many people hungry.

As we now come into the colder months, the need to provide a hot meal is even more important, can you imagine for one moment being cold and hungry, not knowing when you will next eat. It may only be one hot meal but it makes SUCH a difference.

Despite us being extremely fortunate to receive food donations from a couple of businesses (we are so incredibly grateful for their generosity) we are now faced with the need to increase the meal numbers - we NEED your help!

If you could please donate, even a small amount, every little bit will soon add up, we will be able to increase the amount of hot meals we can take out.

What a week it’s been in Manchester 🌧️ – the wet weather has increased the number of people looking for support. In fact, demand has been so high that, this week, we ran out of food far quicker than expected 😔.

Every hot food portion, sandwich pack and cup of tea makes a huge difference, and right now, with the weather becoming wetter and colder, we need your help more than ever.

If you’re able to donate men’s clothes, food or funds, it will go straight to the people who need it most. 💙
