If you're out of work and looking for support, the Together for Tameside event is here to help young people aged 16+ and adults

The free, drop-in event will take place at Stalybridge Victoria Market Hall, SK15 2BN, on Friday 23 October 2026 from 10am to 1pm.

It brings together a wide range of organisations that can help residents aged 16+ take positive steps towards employment, training and a brighter future. This includes support with employment and volunteering, digital skills, mental health, health and wellbeing, finances, debt and housing, family and children, training, and education.

It’s a chance to speak with organisations face-to-face about what support you can receive. There’s no pressure, just friendly and welcoming advice.

Senior Group - ages 12-16
First Tuesday of the month, 5pm-6pm

16+ and Family Group
For anyone aged 16+, or families with a child aged 6+ - an adult must be present.
Third Tuesday of the month, 4:30pm-6pm

A new Resource Provision opens in Tameside for children with SEND 👏🏻😊

Ashton West End Primary Academy is delighted to announce the opening of a new specialist Additional Resourced Provision (ARP), developed in partnership with the Local Authority.

The new resource base will opened on Monday 5th October 2026 and will provide specialist support for up to 20 children across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, with places for children with Communication and Interaction needs.

The development marks an exciting step forward for inclusion at Ashton West End Primary Academy. The resource base will enable the school to provide even more tailored support for children with additional needs, while continuing to promote an inclusive environment in which every child is supported to learn, grow and thrive.

The provision will also strengthen the school’s specialist team and enhance SEND provision across the wider school. Where appropriate, children accessing the resource base will have opportunities to take part in wider school life alongside their peers, helping to build friendships, confidence and a strong sense of belonging within the school community.

The new ARP reflects Ashton West End Primary Academy’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that every child is valued, included and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The school looks forward to welcoming the children and families who will become part of this exciting new provision.
