A fantastic community effort at Tesco Parrs Wood! 💙

Councillors Dave Rawson and Andrew Simcock joined the Perry’s Pantry team and volunteers for their two-day food donation drive, where generous local shoppers donated much-needed food, essential items and money to support families facing food insecurity.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, to the Tesco Parrs Wood team for their support, and to all the Perry’s Pantry volunteers for the vital work they do supporting our local community.

Together, we can make a difference. 🙌

We would like to say a great big thank you 😍for using our Amazon Wishlist to buy the Foodbank sanitary products.
They are expensive to buy month in month out, year in year out for struggling family’s not just in our community but everywhere.

***The Scale of the Issue in the UK ***
*Millions affected
Research by ActionAid UK shows that roughly 2.1 million to 2.8 million people in the UK struggle to afford period products, a number heavily worsened by the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
*Impact on youth
Roughly 1 in 10 young people in the UK cannot afford menstrual products, and 1 in 7 have missed school or university due to the issue.
*Impossible choices
Many affected households must prioritize buying food, gas, or electricity over sanitary pads and tampons. Some are forced to use unsafe alternatives like toilet paper, socks, or keep tampons in for too long

🍎🍐 The weather’s turning chilly… time for some proper winter puddings! 🍐🍎

There’s nothing quite like a warm, homemade apple crumble, when the evenings get colder. 🥧✨

And the good news? We’ve got all the ingredients you need in store at Perry’s Pantry! 🛒

Pop in, grab your apples, flour, oats, sugar, butter and everything else you need, then get baking. Perfect with a generous helping of custard, of course! 😋

What’s your favourite winter pudding? 🍎❤️
