Tameside's People 4 Wildlife

Sharing again as we could really benefit from peoples help at the moment.

Currently the local area is seeing vast improvements with a brand new cricket club being built next door and an amphitheatre going in across the road but due to ongoing building works we are having to reduce visits on site and intakes but also need to have a new water supply installed. This is a large cost to us along with maintenance and repairs that are needing to be completed to enclosures ready for next spring but we dont have enough funds available to complete this unfortunately. Please could we ask people share this fundraiser for us please and any help towards this is massively appreciated.

Thank you

Certainly an unusual one for us this week, we attended a call in Denton expecting a young sparrowhawk instead were greeted by this stunning Nightjar. Thankfully he was just resting and was soon on his way

We are receiving more calls than normal and we apologise for any unanswered calls and messages. This year has been a busy one as we push to have all works completed which we are carrying out on our own as we have a very limited budget which is earmarked solely for this and cannot be used on the rescue side. As its half term and many of our volunteers work and have family commitments we are operating solely with a handful of volunteers 🙋‍♀️ we understand how frustrating it must be ringing everywhere to find help and if we could help we would but at this present moment we just cannot physically and financially take in any more admissions. We will update everyone as soon as this changes.

Another release last week was this female hedghog that was handed in to woodcroft vets after being found by a member of the public. During this nice weather could we please leave some shallow dishes of water out for all our wildlife and whilst doing gardening work please be take extra caution and keep an eye open for wildlife.

We are currently mid world cup and football fever is truly in action but can we please ask that any football nets or other sports netting is not left down overnight please. Luckily this little one is now back out in the wild but not all are as lucky as this one

During the last heatwave we had one of the local juvenile peregrines come in after struggling and being found grounded. Thankfully a quick stint in with us and she was showing vast improvement so we were able to gain access to the nesting site and get her reunited with parents and other sibling.
